Anyone else who would never put someone on ignore?
Even if I loathed and detested a person I can't see what good it would do me to not know what they were saying...

There's no one I dislike on DU - but just hypothetically speaking...I can't imagine ever using the ignore feature.

4. I just have a remarkable memory and can predict "certain posters".
But, I don't put them on "ignore"...literally speaking.

8. I also have only one.
I just wanted to see how the system works. I left it that way because it seems nicer without having to read her junk.

9. I have by accident
But I would not do so deliberately. Those I have put on ignore through an errant click were removed from the list within 30 seconds.

I don't see the point unless someone is threatening me. I have yet to encounter this problem.

You can always learn from smart people, even if they disagree with you and are a bit inflammatory. And the idiots? They're entertaining. :P

I might consider it if someone posted a lot of long messages in all capital letters. those hurt my head a little bit to look at. Other than that, naw. We don't need no stinkin' ignore....

But when I go to the Yahoo boards, which is way to much these days, I wear out the ignore button.

27. I absolutely *love* the ignore option.
I think y'all are nutty for avoiding it. No, I don't have anyone on ignore right now, but I have in the past.

It's a lovely feature designed to help a person avoid being rude or even getting tombstoned for smacking the verbal crap out of someone who seems to richly deserve it.

It's got nothing to do with whether I like a person, or even whether I've got thick skin. The single individual who long ago made it to my Bozo Bin did so by spectacularly and persistently trying to push my buttons. I figured sooner or later I'd come home after a pissy day and he/she/it would be ripe for the smackdown he'd been begging for. Ignore lifted that fear from me gently and put a soothed smile in it's place.

The Ignore feature, - I love it. I recommend it. Because everyone gets rubbed the wrong way by someone and GD is a living example of how little restraint y'all really have. :hi:

28. My world is filtered enough
no need for me to impose more filters on it. As for the "keep myself from smacking the idiots" argument I've never gotten a warning for anything I've said. I guess none of it was quite rude enough.

I don't see the point. I mean if someone is saying something ridiculously idiotic, I enjoy having the option to fel superior to their stupidity and gloat over their misinformed status.

I concur. Ignore is for wussies.
