Favorite London Pub?
Mine is "The Grape," in Mayfair (one block behind Half Moon Street).

on Turnpike Lane. Actually its the ONLY London pub I've been to. I'm sort of partial to the Anglesey Arms in Halnaker, W. Sussex.

3. I also like "Ye Olde Cock" on Fleet Street
Matters not. Way too many to go around. That's why they call it the "pub crawl." Been there, done that!

4. We were there a couple of years ago
We liked "The Bunch of Grapes" near Harrod's. They had a really nice little room up the stairs, no smoking. Nice way to enjoy tasty but bad for you pub grub.

9. The Lamb
.. on Lamb's Conduit Street, Holborn, near the Inns of Court. Has the original Victorian "snob screens" and an excellent pint of Young's bitter.

11. Black Friar is my sentimental favorite.
It's good for Bass and people-watching. I found it difficult to find a bad pub, actually. One of my favorites was a Guinness house on Euston Road near the Great Portland St Underground station.

16. "difficult to find a bad pub"?
Now maybe I'm just a complete beer snob but I have yet to find a really good real ale pub in London. Too many of the London pubs I've been in either don't have a good range or just don't keep their beer well enough.

Outside of the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia I guess I prefer to keep to the places I know outside of the capital.

13. Duke of Clarence
Next door to the Kensington Hilton.
It was many years ago, but they had great pub food and a congenial bunch of patrons. There was an open courtyard in back where we grilled steaks in good weather.
