It could've been worse...
My stepson lightened up the mood considerably by showing up to dinner at the restaurant in a white bunny suit.

My freeper sister gave us a Dumbya bop-bag, which I will undoubtedly use with glee. Still, to her mind it was a joke...her way of saying, "Lighten up...so what if the president is a republican."

Unfortunately, she doesn't understand that what I feel is not minor frustration; but devastation because:
1) I don't believe he really is the president
2) He's a fucking liar
3) The Iraq occupation is wrong
4) His environmental policies are decimating the earth
5) etc.etc.etc.

Even Reagan didn't piss me off this much.

But we were all good boys and girls, seldom delving into touchy subjects, and quickly changing them when necessary.

And the kids help keep the day pleasant, at least.

Riding home in the car with my mom afterward, we all felt free to bitch about the *. :)

Hoppy Easter!

1. Good....
I hate the idea that we can't even enjoy a holiday dinner with family because of politics.

Believe me, there are few political junkies more avid than me... but I can put it aside when necessary. Sometimes real life is more important.

You should've just been honest, afterall they're family right? Whate am I saying, I would've reacted the same way with my Republican relatives..that is, if they would speak to me.

No the thing about Republicanism, and mainstream Democratic media-manufactured beliefs is that they can't be tolerated by those who know better, i.e. you and me. These people must be told they're wrong if they're to understand that they're wrong. And that's where we come in.

Next time, piss'em off.

4. If it wasn't a holiday, I would...
We rarely get together when there isn't a special occasion, though.

It'll have to be in person, too. Any informative emails I send are responded to with, "I really don't need to hear this."

I love 'em; but god they're stupid...
