A bicycle bomb killed at least 10 people, most of them children, in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar today, underlining the violence and insecurity still plaguing Afghanistan two years after the fall of the Taliban.

United States troops in Iraq have arrested more than 40 people in sweeps targeting foreign fighters and insurgents loyal to Saddam Hussein. American soldiers have also raided camps near the Syrian border.

A drive-by shooting west of Baghdad has left two French nationals dead and another wounded. The men were contracted by the United States to help with country's reconstruction.


Apparently Bu$h had the day off today. Bu$h will outline his new immigration policy in a speech Wednesday.
