Stupid right-wing hypocrisy over the MoveOn.org Bush/Hitler thing
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 02:16 AM by CShine
In case you haven't heard it by now, the goons on the right are trying to make a big stink out of MoveOn.org's ad that compared Bush to Hitler, as though this is some kind of new and terrible breach of decency in the political arena.

May I remind everyone that right-wing political commentators and talk radio jocks have been referring to Hillary Clinton as "Hitlary" for many years now. Anyone who cares to see evidence of this can simply google the word "Hitlary" and you will get enough links to keep you reading till doomsday.

So anytime you see or hear someone acting all insulted about this thing, you just go right ahead and point out the blatant hypocrisy of a right-wing that has been using these very same tactics for a long time now. Pot meet kettle you right-wing goons! If you're going to play like this is some kind of breach of decency then you are doing nothing but making a ridiculus parody of yourselves. If you can't take your own medicine then shut the blankety-blank up! "Hitlary" indeed!

I don't want to see ANY right-wing stooges trying to act all insulted about this without it getting thrown right back in their faces! The hypocrisy here is absolutely galling, so all you DUers take the message out there and expose the right-wing extremists for the hypocritical jokes they really are!!

P.S. - Edited to say that this is being spread around by that hack Matt Drudge on his site, and that in response to a request by another poster on this thread the link to his pathetic inflammatory attempt is now provided here.

1. One person makes a film...
And so that means everyone automatically endorses it? :wtf:

4. For POed ex Repub................
If you get around on the internet you will see that there is already more than just a little bit of hypocritical outrage about this from the right. Matt Drudge featured this prominently on his site, and it has been picked up all over the net. So be prepared to see it. I am responding to it, and quite appropriately I might add. Right-wingers have been employing these tactics for years, yet I have already been to many, many site where I have been compelled to point out the hypocrisy of right-wingers who are acting outraged about this, and those same people have been throwing the word "Hitlary" around for years.

7. What I mean to say is this
I don't think anyone in Modern US politics could fairly be compared that way. That the RW insinuates that since one person made a film, does NOT mean that all democrats approve of such film, anymore than I would expect every RWer to endorse the "Hitlery" term.

It's the generalization that bothers me. (Not your reporting ;-) )

2. To be fair...
They can't decide if she's a fascist or a lesbian. Poor sad gang that they are. I checked out the freepuke site to see what all the blather is about and sure enough some "paid" (in the authors words) consultants are researching Senator Clinton to mount a smear campaign. But what most amazed me was how we are a bunch of negativists. And I thought bizarro world was on the other side of the sun. Silly me.

8. storm in a teacup
That was a submitted ad and not a "Moveon.org ad."

DU wouldn't make much press either if we went after every Nazi nut that posted something on freerepublic.com.

Hee hee, I went first to drudge.com which is really "Drudge Retort." Bet it burns Drudgereport.com that they forgot to register that domain.

10. Do you REALLY think that...........
.....the right-wing screamers are going to point out that kind of hair-splitting distinction? You have to go out there and point out this obvious hypocrisy if it's going to get exposed for the stupidity that it is.

Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 02:59 AM by joefree1
They're the ones that want to make a big thing out of it. It's not gonna go anywhere since the ad has been pulled already. We got bigger fish to fry.

I'll guarantee you though, the Right WingNuts will not want to push the Nazi baiting thing too far, i.e., ...

“Bush - Nazi Dealings Continued Until 1951” - Federal Documents
By John Buchanan and Stacey Michael
from The New Hampshire Gazette Vol. 248, No. 3, November 7, 2003

After the seizures in late 1942 of five U.S. enterprises he managed on behalf of Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, failed to divest himself of more than a dozen "enemy national" relationships that continued until as late as 1951, newly-discovered U.S. government documents reveal.

Furthermore, the records show that Bush and his colleagues routinely attempted to conceal their activities from government investigators.

6. knock yourself out, some 'darn good' work there...
http://www.bushin30seconds.com/

And go figure it's ALL grassroots, no money at all. Contrast that with *'s 'grassroots' effort put together by the best consultants money can buy... Whaaaaazup widat? That sloppy gang doesn't even know what grassroots means? Why would I be surprised. "we got to make the pie higher".

Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 02:30 AM by CShine
Oh, and while we're at it, let's not forget how overwhelmingly common it is for the right-wing to use the term "feminazi." The hypocrisy here is absolutely frickin' ridiculus.

11. Problem
The more you fire up Drudge... the more people go there.

That's the problem.

You are pushing his agenda by posting his agenda.

IMO.

I wish they'd run an ad like that--we might lose the election but it would almost be worth it to watch all the pundits die of apoplexy:evilgrin:

16. It's the same as the Daschle/Osama/Saddam and Cleland/Osama/Saddam ads -
only this time they WEREN'T by a major political party, but rather from an interest group.

Don't let anyone get away with this. The Hitler comparison WAS in poor taste and I'm glad they cut the ad, but let's not forget who pioneered this type of ad. It was the RNC.
