Saddam alive = Bad for Bush?
Obviously Saddam's capture is good news for everyone, and especially for Bush for the time being. However, now that Saddam is alive and talking, we will probably find out the true extent of his "Weapon programs". In fact, this may turn out to be good news for everyone but Bush. Iraqi's who suffered under Saddam will get justice. U.S. Soldiers may have an easier time now and hopefully will face fewer attacks. However, with Saddam in custody, if we still can't uncover any significant WMDs with all of his information, Bush will stil have to face questions after this spike in popularity fades.

However, you can count me out of the people who are "upset" we captured Saddam. As much as I dislike Bush, the fact that we have Saddam alive I think is great news.

1. I am *extremely* happy that Saddam was captured.

For all the reasons you cite and because it will take him off the table and maybe force Shrub to deal with Iraq properly, instead of acting like capturing/killing Saddam = "Mission Accomplished".

4. I'm happy too.
Now let's get him to the Hague fast. I'd love for him to get a chance to spill his guts.

2. Saddam still denies WMD, even in interrogation
says that it was something they made up to go to war.

6. I think that is very great news...
that saddam was caught...

but I bet there are many in BushCo's administration that are a bit nervous at the moment that Saddam may just implicate them and back up our beliefs that WMD was just a lie...

7. If Saddam had any brains, he would have launched a major
propaganda blitz. He should have launched websites with photos of his meeting with Rumsfeld, praise for Ronald Reagan and anything else that might embarrass the White House.

It would have been very easy to do and very inexpensive. Syria and Iran should be doing the same thing.
