Gore was Right about...
"we don't have the luxury of fighting among ourselves to the point where we seriously damage our ability to win on behalf of the American people."

That doesn't mean we have to endorse Dean but it does mean, imo, that we should stop the negative attacks within our party. United we stand divided we fall. Tell your candidate to focus on W.

4. Maybe he wanted some rest
after having an election stolen from him.

Few would have listened to Gore anyway for the first year or so afterwards. The reason people are listening to him now has a lot to do with him stepping back for awhile and showing that he was interested in something else other than being president...

Think of the word "Statesman" in relation to this.

6. What?
How many votes did he get in terms of elections all time? How many thousand more votes did he get than our current president? 500 thousand. I can't believe this hatred toward Gore. Disagree with him but don't act like a Republican for God's sake.

11. Oh Dear, Oh Dear what is
going on here. How old are you people???? How many of you run with your tail between your legs whimpering at losing a job, or a love interest? What the heck would you do if you lost in 2000 and had the curse of second guessing yourself every waking day of your life?

Give the guy a break. Gore served this county well, has a strong voice and has decided to take a stand knowing all the while folks like you are standing in the wings ready to slam him.

By the way, how many elections have you ran for? Won? Lost?

Gore has done something no party leader has had the guts to do and it will bode well for Gov. Dean.

Stay the course, keep your nose clean and your ear to the ground. You are about to experience a revolution.

3. That's just it, Gore is re-creating himself again.......
But maybe it's a good thing, Gore being the master of changing everything from his look (i.e. the isolation and beard thing) to his politics (first moderate now liberal), maybe he can get Dean to bend some on the Middle Class Tax issue which is going to kill him in the south.

On edit: Oh, I see you have a Clark avatar. Never mind, continue using rightwing talking points and then wonder why people don't trust your candidate.

8. I agree
the tax issue will hurt him. I think he knows that and will offer his own tax cuts for the middle to lower classes after going back to the Clinton brackets.

10. Yep
The media has complained about Gore reinventing itself so it must be true. THe media complained about Gore's "lies" so it must be true. The media thinks that President Bush is doing a great job, so it must be true. The media seems to think there's no way that Gore could have changed his mind over the last two years and the only reason he endorsed Dean is for base political motives, so it must be true.

Convienent that the media has all the information completely correctly, so we don't have to worry about thinking for ourselves.

18. I think
Clark is a moderate and may well have what it takes to win the general election. I do not support him today but any of the Dems would be 100% better than Bush. Agree?

17. We'll I didn't believe it either....
until yesterday....Tell ya what, Gore gets off of that eight million dollar campaign war chest he sucked away from people who wanted him to run this year (like me)....and he gives it to Dean, I'll support Dean, and start believing Gore doesn't have any ambitions for 2008. How's that for a deal?

You have all the talking points down. How about this for a deal. You vote for whomever the hell you wish and I will do the same. I also will not bash another Democrat will you say the same thing? I somehow doubt it.

23. In a world far far away...
... if you evolve in your positions you are a wishy-washy waffler.

Of course, if you are the wrong person and you cling to outdated beliefs, you are rigid and stubborn.

I am upset with Gore for one thing and one thing only. During the 2000 campaign he listened to too many fools telling him to act like this and act like that and he tried and failed to pull off what they wanted becuase it would have been false.

Last night, I saw an Al Gore who has found his own voice. And I like what it had to say and how it said it.

21. reich wing talking points
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 10:43 AM by JNelson6563
why am I not surprised?

This thread cracks me up (and those like it).

For over a year now Gore has made major speeches calling out Bush and his minions. He has been quite the eloquent warrior in those speeches and every Democrat here has been more than delighted with those speeches.

Oh but now he's endorsed Dean, well, now he's just a loser who is "re-inventing himself" (just like Faux says!!).

Well at least he didn't praise Jr while he and the PNAC gang were kickin' off their Imperialistic Amerika plan.....
