Gore endorsement to be carried Live on CNN also..................
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 08:07 AM by slinkerwink
8am NOW!

I just heard Charlie Rangel's going to be introducing Dean and Gore. I don't know if there's any truth to that rumor. If that is true, that's got to hurt Clark.

56. NPR
I listened to NPR this morning and the only candidate they mentioned in relation to Gore's announcement (which had not yet been made when I was listening) was how this announcement would affect Lieberman. I thought that was interesting. Maybe they just haven't had time to contemplate what it will do regarding other candidates. What I found interesting was that something in the way they were only mentioning Lieberman made it sound like he was a serious candidate & I wondered if this perhaps illustrates the differences between perceptions within the Democractic party and forums like this and the perceptions on a more national level.
So I don't know as NPR is particularly any better a venue for implications being considered -- at least this morning.

Poor Joe, Al didn't even call. Maybe if Lieberman hadn't criticized Gore on running a populist campaign in 2000 and gone with Bush on the military ballot thing in the Florida recount he would have had more appreciation for his running-mate.

Gore has a huge issue with the infighting in the Democratic party.

34. Fantastic! I couldn't believe it...
when I signed on after work yesterday. I was so excited. Then I went into a thread and people were posting really ugly things about it, saying Gore was a curse, blah, blah, blah. I was stunned. Thank god my daughter kicked me off the net, because it was better that I just get out of DU for the night rather than continue to respond to these people.

This is huge for Dean. Will it be the push he needs to be the Dem party Presidential candidate? I don't know. However, I've seen already it is possible this will cause really hard feelings and that some Dems who do not support Dean may simply give up at this point. I hope not. I really didn't expect the high level of nastiness I saw here yesterday.

He made a point of saying he was only one person, and was just giving his opinion, and (paraphrasing now) we could take it or leave it. We're all free to do just that. In fact I will do just that; I'm still for Clark. But, I will always listen to anything Prez Gore has to say because I respect him big time.

44. We're gonna need a lot of momentum to beat Bush.
We've got less than 11 months to get this done.

Dean was the first to be publicly against the war. While others will try to twist his words, everyone knew Dean as the anti-war candidate, well before the war. He's a leader, he's NOT afraid of Bush, and he most DEFINITELY can beat him; get behind him and let's win this thing.

54. YES I WOULD
Because she doesn't believe in annionting a nominee before a single vote is cast.

Gore, of all people should understand the importance of letting the voters speak, instead of using his considerable clout to interfere with the process.

Clinton understands this, that's why he won't endorse anyone.

and is against the war in Iraq? The fact that other Dems have been sniping horribly at Dean shows Gore's worry that we might lose to Bush by having a candidate that doesn't have Dean's grassroots strength.
