3. Kucinich wins...
with 1%, because each of his votes is worth 99, where as everyone else's votes count 1/99.

4. Hey, guys? I'm on the ground down here
and it seems to me that the Dems in Florida are pretty much Dean or Clark. This "poll" is as accurate as any that get DU'd or FReeped but seems to actually be in line with what I'm seeing around here.

We'll see how things turn out Saturday.

BTW? We don't have snow here.

Just wanted to mention that.

5. Here is one from the Miami Dade Democratic site, very close.
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 12:11 AM by madfloridian
Clark is pulling the Jewish vote here strongly so far. I would hope he could get some of it away from Lieberman.

Dean 34.97%
Clark 32.7%

They are very close here in most polls.

Sayfie is/was a Jeb Bush advisor. Interesting site.

Dean has not been to South Florida yet that I know of. Clark has been to the Ft. Lauderdale area several times to the Jewish communities there. He will do well with them.

8. And BTW, nothing to weep about.
We have been seeing this all over. They are very close. Florida is one of the top 5 sites supporting Dean. I think people will be pleasantly surprised that many are now disgusted with the present administration.

It will be nip and tuck, Dean and Clark.

9. Did you happen to see who conducted this poll?
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 12:20 AM by Melinda
Fwiw, ymmv:

Justin Sayfie is currently a lobbyist with the firm of Poole, McKinley and Blosser, and an attorney at the firm of Blosser & Sayfie. He is a former spokesman, policy advisor and speechwriter for Governor Jeb Bush.

Justin served as Governor Bush's Deputy Policy Director from September 2000 to June 2001. In this capacity, Justin oversaw development and implementation of the Governor's public policy initiatives as well as the execution of the Governor's legislative strategy and agenda. He also regularly dealt with state budget issues and provided management oversight of Florida's thirteen executive state agencies.

Prior to that, Justin served as Governor Bush's Director of Communications and Press Relations from November 1999 to September 2000. As Governor Bush's top communications advisor, Justin was responsible for all communications and press activities within the Executive Office of the Governor. These responsibilities included message development and delivery, press relations (television, radio and print), crisis management, and speechwriting. During his tenure, Justin skillfully handled a number of public relations challenges for Governor Bush, I bet he did including a special legislative session on the death penalty and several protests and major demonstrations regarding administration policies. From January 1999 to November 1999, Justin worked as Governor Bush's Chief Speechwriter and had primary responsibility for writing his speeches, opinion articles and press releases.

15. foreign policy experience
Wabeewoman writes:

As NATO commander, Clark had three years of hands on experience working with European heads of state. He was the driving force in orchestrating NATO's response to the Kosovo crisis.

Kucinich, Kerry, Lieberman, Moseley Braun, & Gephardt have all dealt with foriegn policy as part of their congressional duties--Kerry extensively so.

19. More lies about Dean
He does not want to raise taxes.

Dean wants to reverse the Bush "tax cuts" which only served to shift the tax burden back to the state and local level.

Dean also wants to take much of the federal tax burden off the shoulders of the middle class and put it back on corporations.

What dean wants, is to end the "trickle down" economics of Reagan and Bush2, where the wealthiest Americans piss out their windows, and it trickles down towards the rest of us.

Shame on you for claiming Dean wants to raise taxes. That's just dishonest.

14. But Dean gave Vermont seniors a prescription drug benefit
He also made it easier for seniors who can get home care to avoid being putin nursing homes. Clinton said it himself, no one has done more for health care than Howard Dean. Are you calling Clinton a liar?

18. PLEASE - 10 Year Old Quote, Completely Out Of Context!
From the San Fransisco Chronicle in 1993, where Dean was speaking about how difficult Medicare is for Health Care Professionals to work with. This has NOTHING to do with the services offered to patients, and if you bothered to research this issue just a bit, you would know so.

25. Wow repeating lies, how original.
Out of curiosity. Do you have the slightest idea of the context of that statement?

And if Bob Graham endorses him, he WILL win Florida. And I hope to God the people of FLorida are smarter than the Dean bashers at DU, not that it would be terribly difficult.

17. I also voted in that poll ... I live in Missouri
I think all "regional" internet polls are quickly hijacked by each candidate's partisans, making them useless indicators of what they were supposed to measure.

20. Utterly useless
Most polls at this stage of the game in Florida are meaningless- as are internet polls period, with maybe the exception of truly overwhelming results to straightforward questions on so called "mainstream" high traffic sites. Then you might be able to reasonably conclude that a simple majority of the actual population agrees or disagrees with the question as framed during that particular time.
