1. He does it for the photo-op, nothing else.
KKKarl must have thought it would be a good idea.... I sure hope the US military families speak up about how he has ignored them.

6. They mentioned that London wouold be out in force...
to protest bush's visit. Not the ! million that protested before the war but > 1/2 a million are expected. Who knows though, they could get 2 mil!

There was a quick interview wioth one of the fathers of a Brit killed, and he said he didn't want to meet with bush because of the "war for oil" he lost his son in.

What really aggravates me is the callousness of this SOB shown towards AMERICANS! He just doesn't care about this country's citizens. And he thinks he DESERVES to be president...a pox on his house!

2. Yes yes- Oh Please Let Him!
He'll get the tongue lashing of life.

Let him visit them all!

Let there be plenty of photo ops of the Compassionate Conservative who refuses to even acknowledge the US dead.

9. Careful with that.....
I don't want you to get in any trouble with that remark. Who knows if AshKKKroft's posse monitors this site? You may get your butt hauled off to Gitmo and we'd never hear from you again.

17. That's was I was trying to say.
You were more to the point. I agree, civil disobedience, protest, activism are all necessary. But the humorless ones are pretty sensitive to threats and may see "harmless remarks" as a plan to attack on the idiot. Yep, it stiffles free speech.

On edit: WHAT a "GOLDEN SHOWER" in the faces of Americans who have lost loved ones. Is it time to get a clue?

12. They interviewed some London parents
On TV tonight they interviewed some parents of dead British soldiers. One said that he wanted to ask Bush what his son died for, but he would refuse to shake his hand. The other said he didn't want Bush gladhanding him in front of the press because the only reason his son died was for Bush's oil. The British people do not like Bush at all.

I also heard that the Lord Mayor of London is refusing to block off the protests. Bush wanted to shut down central London for three days.

22. He won't dare visit American families
because they will simply go off on him with no holds barred. Bush thinks its safer in England because he isn't well known. Problem is of course he's so stupid that he doesn't see there is no difference, especially with anti-american sentiment building up over there. The expatriots can attest to the growing hostility there.

23. If his visit goes badly...
I guess we can prepare for Freedom Muffins to go with our Freedom Fries.

The cool part about this is that irate families could call Bush a bounder and tell him to bugger himself and he'd have no idea they were insulting him.

25. Bush's UK Visit
... how were the Queen and Tony Blair to know in 2001, when they extended the invitation for President Bush to make his state visit next week, that two years later it would be shaping up as the most fraught and ill-timed exercise of its kind in living memory?

Simply put, the leader of the country that Blair insists is our closest ally is about to receive the most torrid reception ever to greet a foreign dignitary on British shores. It's predicted that up to 100,000 people will be out on London's streets to protest at Bush's presence. All police leave has been cancelled, and Scotland Yard and the US secret services charged with protecting the President are trying to agree how much of London should be sealed off to prevent demonstrators - and possible terrorists - from getting a sight of him.

26. I appologize for the lack of a link...
I went to MSNBC's transcript site for the Countdown transcript, bu it was not up yet. I wanted to dend you that particular link, because it was on Countdown that I heard the initial story.

The story seems to have been buried here in the states, simply because of the volatile nature. I will post link As Soon As Possible.

Dead Soldiers' Fathers Condemn 'Bush's Selfish Stunt'

By James Lyons, Political Correspondent, PA News

George Bush’s meeting with families of British soldiers killed in Iraq was today dismissed as a selfish stunt by two angry fathers.

The United States President wants to meet relatives during his visit to the UK to tell them their loved ones died in a “noble cause”. (snip)

(snip) As he prepared to face the bereaved families, Mr Bush was unapologetic about his decision to go to war.

“The actions we have taken will make the world more secure and the world more peaceful in the long run.” he said.

“I view this as an historic moment and I will share with them – just like I share with our own families here – a deep grief, my sorrow for the sacrifice, but the fact that what is taking place today is a noble cause.”

Mr Bush said he will offer the families the sympathy “of the American people and the prayers of the president”.

The President, who arrives on Tuesday, will tell them “that their loved ones did not die in vain”. (snip/...)

31. I have a daughter in the Navy...
if she came back in a "transfer tube", and bush came by, he would get the photo-op of the decade. I would be there condemning him for all the lost servicemembers, the cut in VA services, the destruction of the Constitution and a myriad of other things.

I believe this is why he has not reached out to the families of those lost, he is A COWARD! He always has beena coward, and he always will be a coward. He has shown his yellow streak on numerous occasions, and he needs to be shown for what he is.

Think of what the world thought of Churchill as he walked through the streets of London during the Blitz. Can anyone picture bush doing anything remotely like that?

This bastard needs to be taken down, and hard! The '04 election should be a resounding catastrophe for the GOP!

29. This could turn into a PR nightmare for Bush...
GOOD! I remember back when we first went into Iraq, the father of one of the first soldiers to get killed was on the news and screamed something liek I blame Bush for the death of my son... It was on twice and then disssappeared from the airwaves... Now Shrubbery is going to England and thinks he's going to have a sit down with the familes of those men and women that were killed... yeah, ok... let's see it live and in living color... lets see him get slapped int he face by a grieving mother, and then while escaping their middle class row house have the throngs of thousands picketing with MURDERER signs in the background... I knew Shrub was stupid... But I didn't relaize he was a complete idiot...

My only question is... will the US news network have the balls to carry the videos?

34. What will it take?
With this planned "photo-op" the *dauphin is PISSING IN THE FACE of each and every American who has lost a relative, loved one, community member or aquaintance. Italian casualties get film at 11. American dead are flown in under cover of darkness. Now, Mr.*Hugger himself intends to console British families. Well, hotdiggitydog. I guess that means that American deaths are just a tiny tad more important than Iraqi deaths, hey at least y'all get some fake numbers! The DISCONNECT is APPALLING!!
WHAT THE FUCK WILL IT TAKE??? :argh: :argh: :argh:
