5. Illegal Aliens
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 06:53 PM by cryingshame
Paraphrase:

Junior wanted to go into Iraq BEFORE Sept. 11th and they used WMD as excuse.

Dobbs asks about supposed advice he gave to a Congressman about Iraq Resolution.
Clark very succintly said LEVERAGE with UN inclusion.

Gave DETAILS about his economic plan. (my question: why didn't he do that last night in debate?)

Clark wants to register the undocumented workers that are here and have a policy for making work visas

Dobbs- the Immigration Dept. calls them Illegal Aliens

Clark- Wide variety of ways to break laws... I'm talking about PEOPLE

9. Clark essentially reinforces the idea
that the administration planned on invading Iraq on Sept 11th or 12th for whatever reason (says he still doesn't know what it is to this day) and that they came up with the WMD as an excuse. The democraticization of Iraq while perhaps a noble cause was an afterthought. He then defended his position that he wanted UN involvement. In response to his stance on budget and economy he said he would rescind the tax cut the * just enacted on the top 2% of wage earners in the US, those making more than $200M. He would pour 1/2 that money into various work programs and in order to slow down the job loss to overseas he would investigate tax laws that seem to encourage that behavior and adjust them so it makes more sense to keep the work here in the US. On illegal aliens, he would enact a program to analyze current status and see how they could achieve citizenship based upon qualifications.
As usual he came across articulate and confident.
Hope this helped.

3. Perle looked like death warmed over
I've never seen his eyes so black. He looks ill. (More so than ever before.)

Perle was at his vitriolic best. A distillation of the lies and all that is unclean about this criminal administration.

Clark was his usual self. Noncommittal. Take away tax cuts for $200,000+ families, etc..

14. NONCOMMITAL- WTF???
What the f*ck?

He gave a specific answer. With figures. How is that noncommital?

16. Clark
Doesn't ANYONE from the Clark campaign read DU?

How many times do we have to tell them to have Clark blink his eyes?

The sequence with Dobbs was the lamest interview yet, though I think that it was edited that way.

Clark was answering the same old, same old again. He ought to use the lawyers line, as in "asked and answered, move on" though I guess he really can't.

It seemed to me the most animated part of his interview was when he was talking about the top 2% of the US income bracket. He can't seem to understand why anyone would think they would be against simply returning the tax rates to the way they were before the Bush disaster.

Not bad, all told, but I think he'd better reevaluate his staff if they are urging him to present himself like a new Al Gore. The old one was bad enough.

How about showing up without a suit and tie someday. That'd be nice.

17. Clark has been in uniforms
most of his life....the suit and tie is casual for him.

He wants to save the jeans as a surprise!!!

It's gonna be a good one!

4. Typical Lou Dobbs
Very long interview with Perle. Much shorter interview with Clark.
Clark made some excellent points about economic growth which Dobbs tried to pooh pooh. Pretty obvious that Dobbs doesn't like Clark, but he was polite about it.

6. I thought Lou Dobbs banned Clark a while back.
Or was that somebody else? (The banner, not the banned.)

7. The contrast between Clark and Perle
..... was scary. Perle LOOKS evil, Clark looks like a normal nice guy - little vague but with his heart in the right place. Scary when you think Perle was one of the top advisors to this administration.

Yikes

10. Missed it - where is Pearle
Is he in this country or was the interview from somewhere else. He is one evil man - been hanging out in France since we went to Iraq - he kept a swinging door with Cheney, Chalabi, etc.

15. He does kind of look like....
the weary and near dead Anakin Skywalker you
see just before he dies when Luke takes off his
helmet.

That is really weird.

12. What do you mean was?
Here's the Prince of Darkness himself representing(?) the US in Israel just last week. WTF is this traitor doing in Israel representing the US?

U.S. Pentagon adviser Richard Perle, center, pauses during a news conference following a meeting of conservatives from the United States and Israel, in Jerusalem Tuesday Oct. 14, 2003. Perle, a close adviser to President Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, said that the recent Israeli attack on a training camp inside Syria was long overdue and that he would not rule out future U.S. military intervention against Damascus. 13. Kind of funny -- he stepped down from the Chair
of the Defense Policy Board, but here he is still speaking as of he is the mouth of Bush. I suspected at the time that his stepping down was merely cosmetic, and so it seems to be. The PNAC gang are still after Syria, apparently.
