And Another Thing On The Rumsfeld Memo
Earlier i posted a sarcastic open letter to Donnie boy about his metric problem. But, another item in that memo seems incredibly revealing, and the press, once again, has done nothing to expose it to the people.

In this memo, Donnie says we have made ". . .no bold moves. . ." in the war on terror. Excuse me?!?!?!?

Since we turned 150 years of U.S. foreign policy on its head with our preventative attack on Iraq, i'd say that would constitute a bold move.

Problem is, i didn't say no bold moves, Rummy did. So, i have a question for Donnie boy and his pals: Wasn't that an blatant admission that the war in Iraq had NOTHING TO DO WITH TERRORISM? I mean it's a pretty bold move, but Donnie says we've made no bold moves on the war on terror.

Hmmmmmmmm?!?!?!?

1. Am I the only one who thinks Rummy is the leaker of his own memo?
It covers his ass--they can't fire him now. He's manuevering--all this crap about Condo-liar being now in charge is just crap.

Everybody on the board jumped all over me for saying so, but now I see a few others are starting to see it my way.

1. Pretty obvious who's behind the leaked Rummy memo.

It's Rummy. They're just getting the message out that it's gonna be a Forever War so they can't be ambushed with that fact closer to th election.

2. I posted this earlier
It's along the lines of what you're talking about. It the center for american progress reply to the same memo.

4. Sorry. I Didn't See Your Earlier Post
But, i think our question is still a valid one, even though mine is redundant. No bold moves? Or, no connection to terrorism? I know which i think it is.

5. you're dead on right
Iraq has nothing to do with "terrorism."

In fact, I'm doubting the entire premise of "global terrorism" more every day. It is a classic Orwellian, trumped-up boogeyman to scare Murkans into compliance and to justify perpetual "war," that is, profits for major campaign contributors.

6. Of course Rummy leaked his memo. But the bigger question is why.
Did he leak it to cover his ass? Did he leak it to distance himself from a failed policy and shift the blame? Or better yet, did he leak it to divert attention from the fact that the Shrub administration put the Iraq fiasco under Condi and therefore eliminated the embarrassment of having to make disclosures to the public about what is going on over there. When Condi got full oversight authority, it went down the rabbit hole of "national security". She doesn't have to reveal anything, whereas Rummy was, in a way, obligated and answerable to the senate and the house. So what better way of diverting the public's attention from the fact that they've pulled off another major coup in the area of accountability? Just have Rummy create a few diversions, and viola, problem solved.
