pitiful, they destroyed Clinton over a b___ job, & we are powerless
just pitiful. even with the "I" word finally being uttered aloud everywhere, we really don't have the stomach for a real fight.

the republican attack and destroy machinery is awesome to behold, like a siege machine from the dark ages, pull it up to the enemy's fortress and smash, bam, crash, boom, enemy utterly destroyed and neutered. we are pitiful in comparison to the mighty, impenetrable g.o.p. attack and destroy machinery.

1. They did NOT destroy Clinton
That's for sure...
in fact.. it's 5 years since he left office
and they are still trying (without much success).

4. they assasinated him politically
and they effectively shut down the government for two years and spent 80 million and branded him a sexual predator in the eyes of milliions, so in a way, they did destroy him, even impeached and disgraced him, my only point being, they have the guts to fight, and we don't seem to have the guts to fight back.

10. They didn't assasinate him politically. He was acquited...
in a Republican held senate. Clinton beat them in the trial. He smoked their asses. Last time I knew...when you're acquited it means your not guilty.

Bill Clinton was the most investigated man in the history of the world. He would beat G.W. Fraud in an election if it were held today, no doubt about it.

If anything, we assasinated Bush politically. The vast majority of historians are judging him as either the very worst president, or in the top three.

9. I agree with you
Bill Clinton was rated second greatest president of the past 50 years--one point behind only JFK--in a poll of random Americans. The Republicans failed in their attempt to destroy Clinton. If anything, he showed that Democrats do indeed fight back and win.

You hit the nail right on the head. They failed. Clinton is not only standing, he's standing proud and will be judged a near-great president.

3. I disagree with you
I think we have no choice but to have or get "the stomach for it". I feel as if this is only the lull before the storm. We aren't dead, we've just had the neocons attempt to wash and cleanse or brains. Thankfully it doesn't work anymore and many are beginning again to think for themselves.

5. You're forgetting that the GOP had control of the Legislative and.....
...Judiciary Branches while Clinton served as the last legally elected President.

We have the same problem now...the GOP-controlled Legislative and Judiciary branches. But, there are cracks appearing in the current GOP monolith...not all GOP Congresspeople are buying the NeoCon bull anymore, and the DoJ is actively investigating the outing of Valerie Plame. Additionally, the leaks of once secret information about the NeoCons and the way they have operated are becoming too numerous for the NeoCons to plug.

I still think the democratic party could make hay out of this. If not this, then there really isn't anything the democratic party could make hay out of except maybe a collapsed economy. The failure of the two party system is what we've all witnessed. It occurs when money influences politics and the opposition is split with half elected dems liking the new American foreign policy and police state.

8. No way did they destroy Clinton
It made him stronger. He faced his problem and moved on.

Also he taught American middle schoolers just how much fun they can have without having sex!

Okay, that was snarky.

12. Never ever...
aspire to become your enemy, esp. when you know that they are thugs and you are trying to restore good. It may be disheartening at times, our inability to be like them, but I would wear that as a badge of honor.

Take heart: if we bring them down for strictly legitimate reasons, then we have our country back. But if we act like them in the process, then we have nothing at the end of it.

I sometimes admire the Congressional dems' fortitude in never taking the bait to be petty and treasonous like the thugs -- and consider the mortal provocations and the personal payoffs for them...

13. They also spent 20 years getting think tanks up and running, radio
shows plying their crap and spliting the country. They made a platform for the religious fanatics. They made a hero out of a villian - Reagan. And what were the Democrats doing during all this?
