Has security monitoring on your transit line increased
lately? It appears so in our area. Cops board buses downtown and do walk=throughs, looking under nad behind seats. They told someone it was drug dealers they were looking for, which makes about as much sense as me dropping by the WH for coffee after I walk my dog. Drug dealers don't normally set up shop on a bus surrounded by a bunch of people who would be likely to serve as witnesses if there were a bust aboard the bus. I noticed the Brits are publicizing the lack of security of their transit system, even now.

1. I've noticed some on BART
that's the subway in the SF Bay Area

I saw a cop with a dog patrolling the platform one day at my station

I'm sure there's more security that the general public isn't privy to
