How Can One Support Bush Wire-Tapping American Citizens?
And support "Fighting for Democracy and Freedom in Iraq" at the same time?

Aren't the two mutually exclusive? These people who support Bush no matter what...why haven't their heads exploded yet?

:banghead:

They get Freedom 2.0. We'll have to upgrade in 2008.

2. Bowtie Boy - "Will they feel the same when Hillary is president?"

All of which might be fine, for now. There's no evidence the NSA hurt anyone. But the principle is troubling. Do we really want to empower the president to ignore Congress, our most democratic institution? Bush's defenders aren't bothered by the idea because they trust Bush. But Bush won't be in office forever.

Will they feel the same way when Hillary is president?

I'll bring you a link in a sec

5. that is my response: "how will you feel when hillary does this?" (not,
of course, that she is likely to, but the sight of their widdle, empty heads exploding at the prospect is amusing.

3. The People Who Support Bush Want A Christian, Theocratic Fascist Govt
They want a right wing dictatorship. Foolishly, they believe that either their money, skin color, or religious affiliations would protect them from the abuses of power. They are perfectly comfortable with removing constitutional protections on people theey deem unworthy, people without religious affiliations or the wrong religious affiliations, the poor, racial minorities, etc. They want a government that works for them and no one else. They want fascism.

6. That is why this whole thing is bizarre
I know we call it drinking the kool ade but what exactly causes people to be so limited in their thinking that they can't understand this concept.

7. I wish our Dem leadership would start talking loudly...
about this ironic (and depressing) situation. Everyone who talks so passionately about Iraqi freedoms seems to have no problem giving up the freedoms that Americans (used to) hold so dear.

9. Because freedom ain't free - and you gotta catch those terrist
besides, you weren't using those liberties anyway... Were you?

:sarcasm:

Truthfully, most of those who support the monster would support anything the regime did because they are too stupid to think for themselves and checkout what it is costing them and their children.

11. These are the same people who get mad when the government
requires them to go through a background check when buying a gun.
