No one is going to convince me that bushitler won't be impeached over
this. No one is going to tell me that the blindfold on Lady Justice is going to be removed. No one is going to tell me that the Court system in the United States is just going to turn and do an about face on this criminal at the top. No one is going to tell me that the SCOTUS is just a bunch of jesters, even though Rehnquist allowed them to take off the blindfold for the 2000 election. This is different. This is different because it is criminal in no uncertain terms. The act of spying against Americans is not clouded with uncertainty or a vote count, recount (and I am not minimizing a stolen election). It's black and white here, and Americans if properly instructed on the facts are not going to like what they see. Get it to the jury no matter the cost!

2. I agree. We must stay focused on this. Cannot give an inch because
we know that they will keep escalating the abuses if the admin, the Republican Party and the media are allowed to obfuscate and slime their way out of an impeachable offense.

They've broken domestic and international laws many times. If Junior can trample on the Constitution, what's next?

Detention camps for dissenters? The plan is sitting on the shelf.

Being able to claim the power to check the excesses of the executive is one of their high value cards.

4. Agreed.
If he will be impeached over anything, it will be this. He also admitted doing it, thus openly admitting that he broke the law. It's clear cut. Republicans would likely be open to the suggestion of Impeachment as many of them run for re-election in 2006. They are already on the defensive, and Bush is beginning to look like a drag on the party, especially after last months elections.

At the end of the day, in Washington, it's every man and woman for themselves. If you begin to weigh the ship down, you get thrown overboard.

Only joking, of course.

This part of your post, "and Americans if properly instructed on the facts are not going to like what they see... is the problematic part of getting the Evil Twig before congress for impeachment.

How long have we been screaming our lungs out trying to "properly intruct" the average lunkhead?

7. A moment of national unity overtook all Americans
when the verdict to impeach Nixon came down. A collective sigh of relief blew the dark clouds from our nation. All Americans realized that our systems of law and order and congressional checks and balances was intact and no one, not even the temporary help we pace in power, could take it away.
Our Constitution became the sail that powered our ship of state and our elected officials performed their duties as prescribed.
We are far from the safe harbor we once sailed into.
A call for all good people to come to the aid of their country must ring out!

but what Bush is doing now is a direct threat to their power. Though the SCOTUS doesn't impeach, they can rule on various things like making Bush give up information to the Judiciary Committee about snoopgate.

31. If an action which directly violates our Constitution isn't an,...
,...impeachable offense, then,...there are no impeachable offenses.

I have been of the opinion that the defrauding of the American people by the BushCO/neocon regime is an impeachable offense. They conspired to trick this country's people into supporting an illegal war based upon false pretenses.

Now, this regime has CLEARLY violated both our Constitution, breaching their oathes of office and the rule of law, and the lives of American citizens by intentionally spying on us. This is as egregious as it gets IMHO.

43. There have been so many impeachable offenses
that it's hard to keep up. The big difference is this one is easily understood by the average American and it is so cut and dried. No nuance at all.

This is the one that will take him down. It will help an awful lot if we take back the House and Senate but I finally think it will happen. Ask anyone - I am a diehard pessimist. It takes a lot for me to stand up with lonestarnot and say, yes, he will be impeached and what a party we will have. Followed of course by a couple of decades of fixing his shit piles all over the world.

I hope the Senate Judiciary take this up before they take up the Alito nomination. If not, I hope this issue is brought out by Dems questioning Alito? Does the Constitution allow the Executive Branch to breach the Constitutional right against unreasonable searches and seizure? Just ask that question. General, elementary question that any citizen should know the answer to.

I feel the same way. All the evidence needed is in the statute in question, and the audio and video recordings of his confession. As much as the Republicans try to spin, they can't change the wording of the law. Only those who have invested their identity, not even in the Republican Party, but in President Bush himself, will refuse to denounce this travesty.
