9. Me too
Because of cronysim in relief agencies, stupidity in focusing on fantasy terra attacks instead of real life natural disasters, stinting a city on repairs to its infrastructure, and just plain callousness, posturing, and being "on vacation" instead of responding to a crisis, we lost a major city.

That has to be the worst.

28. Katrina goes to the essence of the total failure
of the Department of Homeland Security - be it TSA or FEMA or whatever. And DHS is BushCo's baby. The Administration's crowning achievement.

2. Bush's first inauguration
Massive protests, egg-throwing mobs, throngs turning on the usurper...and America didn't hear about it until Micheal Moore put it in his film, and became known as a crackpot.

5. Nice set of choices--from the simply
evil to the personally malicious. I agree, Katrina should be included so we get the scandal of incompetent "professional" government.

6. I don't think we've seen it yet
Considering they have 3 years to go, and factoring in the corruption of this administration, I don't think the definitive scandal has surfaced yet.

7. I'll have to go with the Bush "goldie oldie"
The DSM--the fact that the Iraq war was a conjob from the instant Bush declared his candidacy for POTUS in 1998. From that sprang the other scandals.

17. Voter Fraud - Without that scandal, the others would not be possible
Saw this in a football game:
Two flags are thrown, one on the quarterback for an illegal pass (passing ahead of line of scrimmage)
The other was a personal foul.
The second was ruled as a non penalty because if the passer had not thrown the pass ahead of the line of scrimmage, the foul may not have happened.

Same with the votes, if bu$h & co had not stole the first election, the war or any other scandal would not have happened.

18. Vote fraud. We can't do anything about all the OTHER scandals
unless and until we get rid of EVOTING MACHINES. NOTHING is as important as fair elections.

20. Katrina-for the human suffering that could have been alleviated earlier
For it taking 4 days for FEMA to get there, when Harry Connick, Jr was able to get his car in and bring water and food to people.

For assuming that the Red Cross and Salvation Army could handle a disaster of that magnitude without the federal government's assistance.

Because for the second time in the last 5 years, I had to watch americans die on live tv because the Bush administration consists of a bunch of incompetent political appointees who know nothing about the jobs they've been appointed to.

27. You are one of the very few DUers to get that right
For assuming that the Red Cross and Salvation Army could handle a disaster of that magnitude without the federal government's assistance.

The philanthropies and voluntary NGO's are not FEMA and the National Guard - but BushCO and Rove are trying to blame the Red Cross and the Salvation Army for the BushCo rape of FEMA and the National Guard.

The Red Cross and the Salvation Army are not infrastructure mitigators -- they are short term humanitarian service organizations.
