Bush is Making Nice With Dems Now 'Cuz Rove Will Be Indicted.
Bushwatch: Bush Makes Real Nice All This Week. Why?

1.) Bush invites Democrats over to the White House to hear what they think about his War in Iraq.

2.) Bush accepts responsibility for invading Iraq on bad information.

3.) Bush accepts responsibility (again) for FEMA's failure after Katrina.

I believe that Karl Rove has let his boss know that he's pretty sure that he's going to be indicted which means that he will have to resign from the White House because of his role in outing a CIA agent whose husband was a critic of the Bush/Cheney War.

When Rove is indicted...less than thirty days from Bush's next State of the Union Address, it will be the biggest story since Lewinsky and Watergate.

Who's the nicest animal in the jungle? The lion with wounded paws...only because he has to be.

Too much nicey/nice in the last five days from the White House.

Bush and Cheney are in deep trouble and they know it. Now they have to appease their enemies.

Personally, I hope that Rove is not indicted until after Christmas.

2. OT, Zephyr, but
Your "you might be an asshole" rant is really making the rounds of the influential blogs! I saw your name mentioned twice yesterday. Congratulations!

ON topic, I don't know what to make of this.I don't think the Shrub is EVER inclined to be make nice with non-Lieberman Democrats.

Something else is afoot.

4. He's only nice when he's in a weak position.
I have finally came to the conclusion against my well-honed, jaded/doubting nature that Karl Rove will be indicted. I never really believed it would happen, but I think it is pretty much a foregone conclusion. I may really be reading tea leaves with Bush's asking Dems over to chat about Iraq and his accepting responsibility today for making war on bad information (which we know he cooked up).

But, regardless of my tea leaf reading abilities (which ain't so good), Rove being indicted will leave the Chimp in a very, very lonely little hole. I don't think that he and Uncle Dick are too friendly these days either.

Thanks for your kind words, Canuckistanian. What blogs were you referring to? That is news to me.

:hi:

6. It's all a mystery, isn't it?

IS Bush really estranged from Cheney? Why DOES he surround himself with all these women?

And why, for the first time, is he reaching out to Democrats (at least PR-wise)?

And, sorry i can't remember the blogs specifically. I know you're on SineQuaNonblog, at least.

7. Oh, I agree, Rove will be thrown to the wolves
and will be indicted, in the hopes that he and Scooter will be enough red meat for Fitzgerald and that the real culprits, Bush and Cheney, will skate. It could happen, and expect to hear the phrase "plausible deniability" to surface after these 32 years.

Stupid is already fairly isolated, relying on his office wives, Hughes and Rice, to protect him from the big bad wolf of negative opinion.

I don't take much comfort from an isolated idiot who thinks with his arse 'cause he turned his brains into alcohol addled mush being isolated from anyone who might have a faint glimmer of the truth and might persuade him to change course on any of his stupid policies.

3. Bush is pretending
to make nice with some Democrats to raise his standings in the polls. I don't think it has much to do with Rove.

5. You may be right, frogmarch.
His nicey/nice all week has been sickening. I think we'll see more of this. Fortunately, only the FOX poll really has him "up". Zogby and NBC have him still squarely in the 30's. :)

9. Yes, it's sickening
and I suppose we should all have our barf bags ready. I too think it's just the beginning of his nicey-nice act.

As for Rove, whether or not he figures into Bush trying to appear to be chumming up to the Democrats, I hope he goes down, and hard.

Rove will quit having influence as soon as he is not able to "hack the vote". Indictment schmendictment! The more fitting jungle comparison tale would be the scorpion and the frog. The scorpion stings because it is his nature. One might even say a "leopard doesn't change it's spots" is more appropriate. What you may perceive as "niceness" is more akin to the spider inviting the fly to rest a moment on her web.

12. Speaking of spiders...
Bush chumming up to Democrats makes me think of the old nursery rhyme (well, rhyme at least) that begins, "Come into my parlor," said the spider as he opened his fly.

Moral: Never trust a spider.

13. When did he EVER invite just DEMS to OUR White House?
I heard on NPR this morning that he ONLY INVITED REPUKES like all the other times.

Do you have a specific date and time of the purported meeting?

14. Here is my take on the situation...
bush is in deep trouble with the GOP powers that be, not the Sen's and Rep's, but the real GOP power-players, the one's we have no idea who they are, but they co-ordinate the whole show. Just as they did w/Nixon, they will take bush down. It starts w/Cheney resigning, probably due to "health" reasons. Some R that is benign and pretty well liked will come in as VP...then, a few months later, bush resigns. This will all take place after the mid-term election, and if the D's make some fantastic headway in either or both Houses.

Rove will be long gone. He has ticked off enough of the Power-players to make sure he will be sacrificed as an appeasement to the people's thirst for a 'villain' grows.

The GOP has watched their entire plan fall apart because of their own ineptitude. Frist is out of power, although he still holds the seat; DeLay is going down hard; Cheney can't get much over 18% in the approval dept; Hastert is seen as a wet dishcloth; the war is a fiasco, $100 billion more is about to be asked for, and that will be a devastating blow to bush &Co..."Mission Accomplished" is gonna haunt him even more after the new request for funds is made.

Keep the pressure on our Congress-Critters, and we can get this rotten bum out of the WH.
