to get to the point where we are just now making progress in subduing a CITY. Folks, Bahgdad is a fucking CITY! Just one city. What if we really did have to face a NATION with a unified and fighting military?

the "genius" of the baathist strategy was that they decided not to fight the war that america/the neocons wanted to fight. which is not really genius, its Sun Tzu 101.

if numbnutz had such a fucking hard on to invade iraq, he should have fought a war that hussein didn't expect. like drop money on the sunni populace instead of bombs. let them know our quarrel is only with hussein's family & clan. get the other clans to turn against, or at least remain neutral to, hussein's - make it clearly profitable to risk doing so.

6. We will never be able to leave Iraq. If we can't do the job with our

mighty military, how in the hell will the Iraqis alone be able to handle it? Are we just going to level every area where insurgest are THOUGHT to be and call it a victory?

Most of the insurgents are or were legitimate citizens of Iraq who are now fighting against an accupying force. Why is this even a question. Iraqis had not threatened or attacked the US and we have been bombing them since 1991 with inhumane sanctions that the we bullied the rest of the UN nations to accept. Now as we look back we should be able to see that we not only winked when Saddam invaded Kuwait to stop the illegal slant drilling of Iraqi oil but it was also a lie that Saddam was amassing troops along the Saudi border. We lied then, we lied to invade and we are still telling lies about Iraq. When will the world wake up? Is it just pure and simple racism or what?
