Meanwhile, the Republican Congress and Senate escape unscathed...
Nothing we are discussing could have happened or would have happened if we did not have the right-wingers presently in power. George W Bush is their escape valve. They know they don't have to answer for their actions because most of the Democratic animosities are directed toward the impostor in the WH.

Although we have several Democrats that voted for the war, for example, they can and they are saying that they were deceived by the lies. The Repubs will be hardpressed to use the same excuse. They would rather drink hemlock.

The same goes for the taxcuts and the deficits we are now experiencing. We would not have either if not for the radical Repubs in the House and Senate. Let's not forget about them in November of 2004. They need to feel the heat of the voting populace. Nothing will get their attention like the possibility of losing their seats and their power.

1. Which is why
it is important to make sure there are strong candidates to oppose the Repug cretins in the House and Senate. In fact, it might be more important to work on Congressional/Senate races than Presidential ones if we want to overthrow the right-wingers.

3. You are correct !
I think that should be the Democratic strategy. Because the best way to elect a Democratic President is to elect a Democratic House and Senate, because the votes trickle upwards. But Democrats are not very good at strategy....

The damned Dems voting overwhelmingly with the war mongers. They can and should say they were decieved but it's still unforgivable they did not, and still do not, oppose the fascists at every turn.

4. Good point !
I debated whether to use the word "several" or "many"...in the spirit of maintaining civility amongst our own corps. But you are correct.
