PLEASE READ if you're traveling on I-95 from the Northeast

There is a HUGE tanker truck fire on I-95 south in Maryland near Powder Mill Road in Prince George's County.

You're going to need to take an alternate route, because the southbound lanes are shut down. :(

There's also an accident on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway southbound, but I believe that's in the process of being cleared.

3. This is a real mess

Traffic is backed up all around the Capital Beltway, and north and south on I-95.

Best bets might be Route 15 south or I-70 through Frederick, Maryland for folks coming in from the North.

8. Only southbound on I-95

Congestion at I-95 Northbound between Route 610/Aquia Harbor-Garrisonville and Route 234/Dumfries.

Traffic is slow through Woodbridge to Lorton, and from Springfield to the crash at Landmark (which is now on the right shoulder). Route 1 is slow through Quantico and from the south end of Marumsco Plaza to Route 123.

none of the news weenies locally are suggesting that, but that's what I'd do, especially if I had a long way to go.
