Just got home
I work nights so I have kind of an news blackout yesterday and I saw a repeat of Hardball on MSNBC. I just have 1 question, what the fuck is wrong with the people of the Cincinnati area? How could they elect a real "Cee U Next Tuesday ;-)" instead of a good man like Paul Hackett? I am watching this and all I can think is that the Repug leadership put her up to this seeing as she is not very smart and didn't know that she broke a rule of the House, not that they care about the rules they just rewrite them (see: DeLay), and told her to attack a guy that you can't call a coward. This was a guy who was the first in and last to leave a war that many of the republicans didn't want to dirty their hands with. I want the DCC make it their mission to defeat this woman. I thought that Matthews called it right when he asked the question did we just see the end of this woman's political career? She just squeaked in with Bush's coattails and we now see that they are gone so what is she going to point to as an accomplishment? I just can't put into words my outrage here, and I am sure that the DU community has talked this to death, but I just had to vent a little bit.

As an aside there was a post here a couple of weeks ago about a social contract about the word bitch. If you look up that word in the dictionary there is a picture of her with her cheesy US flag t-shirt with sequins.

2. Doubt that mistake will be repeated
If that woman dares run for anything again, a trained rat could beat her.

She's been outted for the psycho she apparently is.

7. But that is before an opposition campaign plays the tape
over and over again.

Plus, any DEM running against her will get $$, believe me, they will have a war chest.

3. Did they elect her, though?
If you'll remember, her home district shut down whilst counting votes because of a power outage - caused by 'humidity' :eyes: - when she was trailing behind Hackett.

Upon the repair of the 'humidity' outage, poof, she won.

Sounds like a case of Diebold more than voter stupidity, to me.

6. Her outrageous behavior was only matched last night when
the speaker of the house (for the day ... it's never Hastert directly) muddied the waters when a Dem asked the parlimentary inquiry of just what resolution they were debating after a repug referred to Murtha's resolution as what needed to be defeated last night. When asked the question about what resolution was being debated, was it the Hunter resolution or the Murtha resolution because they thought they were debating the Hunter resolution, the Speaker retorted "That's debateable". I thought there would be blows thrown at that point. The Speaker showed that he could NOT be trusted in that role and that he was very politically immature, just like Schmidt.

I sat here, mouth agape, after he said that. They were laughing about it last night, the whole idea of putting this crap on the floor for a vote, but it will come back to haunt many of them, if we do our job correctly. They made fools of themselves, especially if the rumors are true that Rummy is now looking at a withdrawl proposal that mirrors something closely related to what Kerry proposed recently.

Hypocrite all, with a heavy dose of hubris, and egos that don't allow them to see when they are flinging their own poo around the room.

Sorry you missed the action last night. It was great tv. Murtha was right on target and they can't smear him now.

But, we must make sure that no one forgets the flippant behavior by Schmidt and that Speaker last night.

9. You need to do some research on voting machines in your state
and pronto. There's a whole Election Reform forum here. Please check it out.
