The Republicans are desperate
They have not been on the "offensive" in general since last January at the least. They are being battered by their defeat in Social Security phaseout, the backlash over Terri Schiavo, Iraq, Katrina, and their abuse of power in the issue of corrupt officials.
Now they are running ads attacking Reid and People for the American Way (don't shoot the messenger, Karl.) They are also trying to spread an Election 2004 lie that says the Democrats ALL had the exact same intelligence as Bush. The Republicans are really desperate if they are trying to pull all of this. I believe that it won't work. however, since the Democrats are getting SMARTER and betting led and trained.

2. Funny thing.......
If we can get every Democrat to not vote or vote no on this, then we can turn around and call the Republicans hypocrites for even introducing their resolution.

3. Am I missing something?
I have CSPAN on and it says "live" but it's been about NASA and FEMA appropriations.... CSPAN-2 has the Senate. Is there something I'm missing?

5. No! The vote comes up after some other bills...
They voted to have the vote on the Hunter bill later tonite... As Barney Frank so nicely said, these other bills are to 'kill time' till the GOP figures out what the heck they're doing! lol

I hope all the dems vote 'present'...

4. I talked to a Repub that was hotter than I am today. Her son is
graduating this year (smart child,) and they're afraid that they won't be able to send him off to the school that he needs to go to.

7. I hate to say this but
Bring it on!! If all the Reps want to play mean politics lets go at it. I am tired of us sitting on our ass. Don't you remember the slamming they did to Clinton. Don't remember the mean politics during both 02 and 04. Its time to get some balls! And you know whats funny, that all there undercutting mean lies about us got them elected. We have something on our side we don't have to lie about them its all true. Its time for Democrats to be mean nasty and yes dirty because these guys don't play fair. And as sad as it may be we can't take our toys and go home. Time to fight for our Families are Veterans and our Children our Elderly and our Poor. If a fight is what they want lets go at it!

11. bottom line, all their issues are really unpopular
they got nothing except the religiocrazies. They were able to distract people and brainwash them emnough to get them this far, but no they are being revealed for their true selves, and Americans don't like what they see. For some reason the media is undecided about whether to continue their prostration before the Bush empire, or step in front of the (much) bigger populist explosion and try to pretend to be leading it.

Hmmm--I don't know if they can do it. We remember their treachery.
