Dear Mr. Conyers,

Thank you for all your work, and I wish everyone would pay as much attention to you as they have Mr. Murthra.

1. Amen to that. IMO Conyers has made it possible for Murtha to
be heard.

2. Is it racism?
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 09:45 PM by Pryderi
Yes. I'm listening to Randi Rhodes and she made the point with
Sheila Jackson Lee that the Congressional Black Caucus has been hammering on this issue for a much longer time.

5. I see your point now. Maybe. It's hard to know or judge
a 'group'. I do better examining individuals for twisted viewpoints.

6. Even here, everyone's celebrating Murtha's and Kerry's comments and
Mr. Conyers has been forgotten.

7. Wait 5 minutes and the topic du jour will change.
Remember Katrina and the tsunami? Don't let yourself get too down. People are people and as a rule, have very short attention spans.

8. Conyers should hold a press conference about the GAO report
I am not sure, but what did Conyers do after the recent GAO report came out? He needs to do something to bring the media attention to the election fraud that went down.

In all fairness, Kucinich is the one that has led the effort against the war in the House of Reps since the beginning, he and we and Cindy Sheehan deserve the thanks for pushing the Iraq war to the forefront, but every peace activist out there I am sure is more than grateful for Murtha speaking out because in the end it is about results, not recieving credit.

During the election, John Kerry let the war issue go, so did the media...we weren't even allowed to talk about bringing the troops home this time last year. This is some serious progress-what a beautiful thing!

9. When we take back the House
I want John Conyers to be speaker. I understand Pelosi is in line for it, and I'd love to see a woman (and a great one), but I'd rather see Conyers.

I want every asshole who made fun of the hearings he was forced to have in the basement have to call him Mr. Speaker. (Besides, I donated to his campaign and got an autographed book. :))

12. I have written more thank you letters to Mr Conyers than any other
politician. And he isn't even my rep.

He is a true patriot.
