CHB gives it to the President: "Burn in Hell, Mr. President"

* * *

How dare he, I thought. Not even the lowest, scum-sucking son of a bitch in politics would stoop to using a day to honor those who served their country would stoop to using that day to promote his lies-based, illegal, immoral exercise in mass murder called the invasion of Iraq.

Yes he would. George W. Bush is a pathetic, pitiless scrap of sub-human trash that lacks any shred of decency or morality. So why wouldn’t he desecrate the memories of those who serve our nation?

As a journalist, I’m expected to be dispassionate about events and those who shape them. But I cannot be so when it comes to Bush. He’s a liar and a traitor to the oath he swore when he became President of the country he now works so hard to destroy.

Bush is much, much more than just a bad president. He is a genuinely evil man, a raving lunatic who cannot face the fact that his insane policies have destroyed a once-great country called America. George Bush’s America is an arrogant bully distrusted by its allies, hated by most of the rest of the world and divided internally by his divisive, duplicitous actions.

Man, some great quotes here. I wonder how the author really feels.

14. Well, he used to work for the GOP, so he has been a work in progress
He worked on the Hill in the 80's during Reagan, for a Congressman.

3. "pathetic pitless scrap of subhuman trash" understated, yet accurate and
very effective in delivery and punch.

5. Why should we expect anything less
from a deserter. This POS POTUS wouldn't even honor his own service commitment yet he expects those serving today to blindly follow his orders. CHB went easy on him in this vet's opinion.

7. Remember...
Bush didn't decide to hijack Veterans Day to lie about his Iraq lies. His entire team decided to do it.

The entire Republican junta is deserving of the label: ...pathetic, pitiless scrap of sub-human trash that lacks any shred of decency or morality.

Bush is just the puppet.

Hyernel

p.s. Watched 'Batman Begins' on DVD last night. Highly recommend!!!!

8. Nominated ... and glad someone posted this!
While some may have reservations about Doug Thompson as a journalist, I think we can safely say he's earned his stripes as an editorial writer.

I stumbled across this piece this morning and couldn't wait to get to DU and post it. Glad to see it's already been posted. Now if we all just forward it to others and turn it into a progressive "chain letter" like those pathetic ones started by the Freepers and their ilk.

Propaganda Can't Hide the Facts

SNIP:
When you cut through the hype, the propaganda, the spin and the talking points that spill out of the Republican National Committee offices like diarrhea, you’re left with a simple, sad fact: the man who promised in 2000 to give America “the most ethical administration in history” instead delivered another corrupt White House where lies rule, cover-ups abound and ethics become politically expendable.

George W. Bush’s White House is certainly no better than those that preceded it and is, in some ways, far worse. Watergate destroyed Richard Nixon’s presidency but he still opened up relations with China. Iran-Contra left a black eye on Ronald Reagan’s two terms but he still played a central role in ending the Cold War. Bill Clinton’s sexual appetite left more than a semen stain on an intern’s dress but he oversaw the longest period of economic health in recent history and came close to peace in the Mideast.

George W. Bush looked like a leader when he led the country in the months following 9/11 but that legacy may well be lost because of the lies he used to justify an invasion of Iraq and the unfettered use of the power of the White House to try and destroy those who dared speak out against him. His lies and duplicity have sent more than 2,000 Americans to their deaths in a war that did not need to be fought and one that we most likely will not win.

In the end, his promise of “the most ethical administration in history” was just another lie – part of a legacy of lies that will forever define his failed Presidency.

Yup.

15. I've said this before, and I do not KNOW the guy, but I met him
When he was still a loyal GOP type. He was not rude or jerky at all, though he had opinions. And he knew EVERYONE in the room. Many Hill pukes, they all called him by name, and he replied in the same fashion.

He knows folks who are still slaving away in the bowels of gubmint....
