I Get So Freaking Sick Of Kyra Phillips And Her Bible Banging.
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 01:42 PM by DistressedAmerican
She brings up "faith" and "spirituality" all the freaking time. Now it is about angels and wounded troops.

Leave your damn bible at home Kyra and report the freaking news. Nobody gives a shit that you love Gawd.

I guess God killed the other 2,000. I guess they were just not deserving of His mercy?

It conjurs up an image in my mind of God playing favorites.

24. Yes. We have God on our side and they don't
Kyra's just another CNN hennaed redhead with shit for brains masquerading as a "journalist". They all make me sick.

The country needs facts and we get Barbie dolls spewing garbage like this.

7. That's exactly what I was thinking while watching that.
So, God had it out for the other 2,000 poor bastards, I guess.

Hey, good for that Captain who lost his leg, for staying positive and keeping his faith. But saying "God saved me" is arrogant, and disrespectful of the dead.

And Kyra.... oh, Kyra. "You're, like, the most amazing person I've ever met, and stuff!"

6. Kyra on Bush payroll?
Daryn/Kyra/Letterman/yawning kid:

CNN host Daryn Kagan added: "We're being told by the White House that the kid, as funny as he was, was edited into that video, which would explain why the people around him weren't really reacting." (This was three minutes after the segment ran!)
Later, during CNN's "Live From ...," anchor Kyra Phillips reran the tape but cautioned viewers: "We're told that the kid was there at that event, but not necessarily standing behind the president."

She gets her instructions directly from Rove.

I'd forgotten all about that. Not the kid, because who could ever forget that kid, but the CNN cover-up-n-shill initiated by Kyra and Rush Limbaugh's girlfriend.

American Atheists has a running column of testimonials - combat veterans who confirm that there are, in fact, atheists in foxholes. They are having a special Veterans Day event to honor the godless Americans who have served in combat

I have never seen stats on war fatalities based on religious affiliation.

Somehow, I doubt that Christians are killed less often that atheists.

14. Kyra has a Muslim Husband
I think that is why she's a staunch Bush supporter.

American Muslims are far different in their perceptions then Iraqi for obvious reasons.

Bush has been horrendous to the Islamic community in the U.S.

Ask any Immigration lawyer about this.

23. I agree with you but here is her quote
I happen to be watching Cnn that day. I usually come here for my news it's more reliable and less pandering to the administration

PHILLIPS: It seemed a large chunk of that speech, he was aiming at reaching the Muslim community. Actually quoting one of my favorite verses from the Quran, chapter 5, verse 32, one that is constantly used for the insurgents and also for Muslims that say, no, no, no, the Quran does not talk about killing innocent people. Let's listen to how he actually quoted this verse.

15. I am so glad you posted this!
Just turned on CNN to see if I could catch **'s speech (I am almost never home and hate commercial TV--wanted to count the hula-jaws ) and there was this story. What got to me was the deception. She introduced the wounded soldier and the chaplain with the preview that the chaplain had called in the helicopter that saved the soldier (marine?) and how he was later able to thank the chaplain for saving his life. THEN!! It turns out the chaplain had not called in the helicopter, he had called on the prayer chain...

I was so disgusted I had to turn the thing off and dash to DU. Why in the hell do I even try to watch that junk journalism? :grr: :grr:

Or freepers calling us LIEbral or DemocRATs. Or when my mother use talk about Saddam Insane. That sort of thing has always bothered me. It strikes me as not terribly mature, esp. since many of your fellow DUers, unlike Bush, believe in that "GAWD".

27. Well That Would Be Their Issue.
God/Gawd is a fictional character. You can choose to believe in that is you would like.

But, do not expect me to curtail me language to avoid offending xtians. No one ever goes out of their way not to offend me with their assertions about the existence of this fictional character.

The overwhelming popularity of xtianity in this country is one of its biggest problems. It is the very dynamic that Bushco has been using to screw and manipulate us.

29. But not all Christians are Republicans. They do not own religion
they just have used it to manipulate.

Do you think Christians in the Democratic Party are a problem as well.

You may not have a problem with offending Republican Christians. But I would think it might be a problem with Christians on your own side.

30. Frankly, Yes I Do. The Propogate They Myths That People Have Used To
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 03:04 PM by DistressedAmerican
control large segments of the population for centuries. Crusaders were not repugs. But, they sure as hell did use xtian mythology to justify the invasions. Just like Bush.

Propogation of these unfounded "faithbased" perspectives just guarantees fertile ground for more manipulation. Those that continue to propogate it are part of the problem.

If folks find that offensive, too bad. I find the endless manipulation of people with 2,000 years old myths morally rephensible. Period.
