Hey, Fran! Not THAT God, Stupid!!!
See this story on Yahoo: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051111/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_ap_poll

Poll: Most Americans Say Bush Not Honest -- well, duh.

But in the true spirit of journalism, the reporter presents the "opposing" side, where Fran Blaney spouts the following bit of nonsense about Bush, which is what this little rant is all about:

"I know he is a man of integrity and strong faith," said Fran Blaney, a Republican and an evangelical who lives near Hartford, Conn. "I've read that he prays every morning asking for God's guidance. He certainly is trying to do what he thinks he is supposed to do."

Well, gee, he prays every morning, so I guess everything is all right now. That will certainly make the Iraq War go away, and the budget is as good as balanced, and the incompetent people in charge of FEMA will surely MAGICALLY learn how to do their jobs, because Bush PRAYS every day, so he knows EXACTLY what he is supposed to do! He doesn't actually have TO READ ANYTHING, does he? Hell, psychopathic serial killers pray for guidance, too, so why not Bush?

But praying aside, what he THINKS he is supposed to do is NOT what he's ACTUALLY doing. What he is SUPPOSED TO DO is be a good President, and in case you missed it, HE'S DOING A TERRIBLE JOB!!!

One could almost call it GOD AWFUL.

Bad news, Fran. Based on Bush's behavior, we can only assume he is NOT talking to a God who values 'integrity' or 'compassion' or any of those other pesky things some Jesus guy talked about a few thousand years ago. In fact, most of us have learned that if Bush says something, we will soon find out the EXACT OPPOSITE is true.

Does he say Saddam has "weapons of mass destruction"? Guaranteed he doesn't. Does he say he wants to make education a priority? Budget cuts and idiotic ideas immediately to follow. Does he say he wants to "keep America safe?" Look for a policy guaranteed to piss off the rest of the planet. Does he say his staff is filled with good, hard working people? Indictments to follow.

Get the picture? So, when Bush says his "Christian faith" is important to him, what can we assume this lying sack of shit REALLY means? Should we BELIEVE he's a good example of how Decent Christians behave? Only if we close our eyes, plug our ears, and scream at the top of our lungs: "La, la, la, la, la -- I DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING!!!"

Frankly, he's the worst thing on the planet for "Christian" values since the Crusaders started trying to steal land in Palestine. Based on HIS ACTIONS, his beliefs are more closely aligned with those of Charles Manson than Jesus Christ, so even pretending to put him forth as a paragon of "Christian virtue" isn't all that bright. And seriously, WHO WOULD JESUS BOMB?

I think most of us (57%, according to this article!) are pretty clear that Bush worships the Almighty Dollar, and the messages he's been getting from that Deity have been clear: Steal, Murder, Plunder. Money is the only thing that matters to this man, and we can't even count the dead anymore because of him.

And IDIOTS LIKE YOU helped put him in office. I can't even find the words....

:banghead:

On a positive note, a loving and merciful God will surely forgive the wickedness of your ignorance and cruelty in helping to put this man in a position of power and influence. As for me, mine comes with a price tag:

GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF OFFICE, AND NEVER INFLICT HIS LIKE ON THE COUNTRY AGAIN!!!

6. an obvious ploy that's worked forever
make a big show of your 'faith' and the rest is gravy. benny hinn, pat robertson, jerry falwell, jimmy swaggart, jim and tammy, they all do it. i've even thought of doing it myself it's so very easy, but then, i have a soul and my integrity to think of.

8. I have no soul
But my integrity definitely won't allow me to lie about all that praying and God stuff. Swindling people in the name of the Almighty would make me feel so dirty.

7. She's probably following people like Robertson and Falwell.
Neither one of them are what I would consider a Christian.
