3. Now, if we could just get them
to go create their own communities somewhere (like the Mormons did) and leave us all alone...

4. As someone from Massachusetts
I'd just like to point out that the Mormons didn't stay there.

10. True--
they didn't stay. Maybe not the best example. How about the Amish?

The Amish do maintain their own communities, with their own standards--they have no interest in us, or getting the world at large to live like they do.

I wish the religious right, freeper fundies would do the same.

15. Too bad about the polio, though...
(not to keep arguing. It's just that the Amish are going to KILL US ALL)

6. There is a plan for them to move to South Carolina
and make it its own country. The group is called Christian Exodus.

14. Has he been a very vocal
part of their 'community?' I haven't heard of him, but I go out of my way to not pay much attention to them, unless they make the news somehow--or someone on DU writes about them, and I see it...

16. I have no idea
He's up in Valley Springs. Now I'm going to try not to say anything bad about Valley Springs, so let's just say South Carolina won't be much of an adjustment. :eyes:

I've heard my share about the 'conservative areas' outside of Sacramento--kinda' scary. :scared:

You'd think they weren't makin' 'em like that anymore--or at least hoping...

20. Yep, I've heard of this plan.
The problem is my fundie neighbors aren't joining in; maybe I will have to persuade them.
