BBC: Has Bush become election liability?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4422080.stm

After President George W Bush's party suffered a series of blows in US local elections, some are now asking whether he is becoming an electoral liability.

After months of political unrest, marked by scandals and falling poll ratings, Republicans badly needed some good news from these votes.

What they got was nothing to cheer: A loss in the close-run race for Virginia governor - despite the president's appearance on the campaign trail, defeat in New Jersey, a partial success in New York.

In California, Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger put a series of referendum issues to the electorate - all of them were rejected.

Possibly the most significant vote was in Virginia - where the president's political gamble failed.

4. I love the BBC, Independent and Guardian!
Why is England's news so great. How is that they hit the nail on the head and we slug along in the mud. Maybe the spirit of all that great literature that came out in the 1800s still lingers in the UK.

7. This morning
when Rep J.D. Hayworth (R. Batshitcrazy) was asked if he would want the President to come campaign for him, he basically said no. He only wanted him to come to the border in AZ, but did not want him to campaign with him.

9. Oh, that's funny.
Can you imagine Rep. Hayworth, on the phone with Bush...

Bush: Yeah, buddy, I'm comin' to help ya.

Hayworth: Well, George, ...uh....

Bush: Remember....(sounds ominous)...we Republicrats stick together. We help each other out, in times of need...and all that.

Hayworth: Yeah, but - - I've got a lot of campaignin' to do. Lotsa hands to shake...poor folks. You know? You might be too rich for their blood...(tries to be nice, but he needs to get rid of Bush)

Bush: Oh, don't worry!! I gots me the "Common Touch". My PR people made sure I have a ~real~ Tekhsus accent so's the Ordinary Guys can relate to me!

Hayworth (getting nervous): Listen, George: just come to the border. We'll have a nice party for you there....lotsa beer and all that...

13. shhhh! No Of Course He's Not A Campaign Liability....
Not to worry GOP candidates for 2006, that's a lib-rul lie, George W. Bush is political GOLD!

Please, please, photo op as much as possible with your beloved President. Tell him as frequently and loudly as possible that he's doing a heck of a job. Put a huggy picture of you and him on the front page of your website.

Trust me on this one, OK? It'll work out for the best, I promise...and don't forget to get some of that Dick Cheney mojo workin' for ya too!
