Batshit crazy freeper response to election.
OK, this is beautiful. Their response to the election perfectly mirrors their "nobody ever reports good news from Iraq" stance. So far the only thing they have to crow about is winning the anti-gay-marriage initiative in Texas:

Hello all, a precursor: I just woke up to all this news.

Now, I ask, why is everyone's outlook so negative here on FR? Let's compile a Good News Thread that goes over what we've actually won, because as I've seen so far, a couple of governor's races whose former office holders were both libs isn't a huge coup (or a "referendum on President Bush"), nor is few propositions in a liberal state (CA) where a semi-RINO at odds with President Bush is pushing them.

* Voters Trounce Election Changes in Ohio, where four ballot initiatives to try to take control from GOP leadership by out-of-staters failed,
* Texas voters approve ban on Gay Marriage, where another state chalks up a negative public view of sodomy,
* Democrat beats Democrat in NYC, which is good news, relatively speaking... And more from NY:
* NY Proposition One, which would authorize the liberal legislature control of the budget, and strongly railed against by Pataki soundly fails, 70-30
* And not that it really applies to anyone, but GOP Sweeps Top Spots in my NY county of Chautauqua, taking it back from Democrat county executives

WE'VE GOT CHATAUQUA!!! Jesus Christ. And that's one of the saner responses. Ponder this statement for a moment:

Most ballot issues were shot down, and the ones that weren't went in our favor.

So in essence, "We won all the ones we didn't lose!" Great job, guys.

More, if you want to die laughing:

1. Thanks for that
I never read freeper shit unless it's re-posted on DU.

I visited Chautauqua once. Yikes! Now, THAT is Freeper ville!!

DU needs a Rush Limbaugh thread since almost everyone here doesn't listen to him. But I'd love to know how he's going to SPIN tonight's news. Funny as hell, I'm sure.

6. Completely out of touch with reality, as usual
The confusion and stupidity one would expect to accompany such a total defeat for the befuddled RW'ers. When you can't win, make something up.

What color is the sky in their world?

:freak:

:wtf:

:dunce:

12. Extreme southwest of New York State..........
almost to the Pennsylvania border. It used to be a hot-bed of spiritualism during the early 1900's. Great wine country and really beautiful with it's rolling hills. Why it went (R) is beyond me. I thought it was a fairly progressive area but I may be mistaken. I live about 80 miles away to the northeast along the shores of Lake Ontario.

11. And in NY Prop 2 PASSED
which provides more money for PUBLIC transportation. I'm glad Prop failed - Democrat Eliot Spitzer will have more power when he wins the Governorship in 06.

The senisble voters in Maine beat back an antigay initiative.

13. Had the Republicans won the governor's races in VA and NJ, you
can BET your last dollar that the Freepers would have been trumpeting to the rooftops that this represented "a huge validation for Bush" and "a clear indication of the continuing shift to the right of the American electorate" (only of course, they wouldn't have used such Big Words.)

Since they didn't, it's not important, and "not a huge coup". Right.
Ooooh, I'm dy-in!

Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 07:10 AM by ComerPerro
"Wait, what exactly did we win?"

"Well, gay people can't get married in Teaxs"

"They couldn't before"

"And they still can't"

"So how does that affect me"

"Well, um... ... ...hmm..."

17. NY hardly has a far right Rep. that ran.
These mayors were both Dem. when it paid to be Dem. They both are middle of the road.

18. Chautauqua is probably like the Orphans gang from that 70s gang...
flick The Warriors- "So far down they're not even on the map."

The Orphans weren't even invited to Cyrus's big gang meeting.

Here's a good one:

--How do the losses in those propositions hurt Arnold?
And who believes his poll numbers really are suddenly "in the 30's"?!--

20. Here's the one I liked.
"If you recall, Bush 41 was way ahead in the polls a year out from his election. I think it is great to get all this messy stuff out of the way NOW. By next year W will have a high approval rating and we will get a filibuster proof senate.

A year in politics is a long time to voters. Dont forget we still have the summer doldrums, where nothing anyone does seems to matter. Seem like a long way off? It is. Nothing new happened yesterday. Nobody lost anything.

The dems will take heart in saying 'We didn't lose!'."

-----

Looks like denial is not just a river in Egypt, eh? Wow. Let's watch for Bush's "high approval rating" next year! How high? 45%?

21. Flips, flops, rationalizations, spin
They sound like a bunch of ninnies. Republicans are too stupid to realize it's over for them.
