7. People could see it with their own eyes.
They didn't need to log on to the London Guardian to find out the truth, or in this case, the lies. There it was right in front of them.

Katrina is what woke them up to see the rest of the lies.

14. "You've done a heck of a job, Brownie" said it all
He has No connect with reality. The world saw black faces stranded and with no help as he congratulated one of his lawyer appointees who was more interested in his wardrobe than Katrina victims. These memories leave an imprint who won't be soon forgotten.

16. I've been appalled, angry, disgusted & ashamed
I don't know exactly why, but today, while watching a reporting recap by Brian Williams, I started weeeping about what happened. I mean I wept and wept and wept some more. I felt terrible deep sorrow for all of those people who didn't do anything to deserve such terrible suffering. My heart was literally aching.

Until today, I had a whole lot of other feelings about what happened, but I hadn't felt terrible grief like this. I mean I had felt bad, and was sympathetic, and donated money, and called my elected reps, and expressed my disgust, but I hadn't shed any tears.

I don't think our Prez or his cronies have shed tears though, and I wonder, will they? Will they get it? Will they feel it? Ever?

I really don't think so, and that's why I want them all out of Washington, D.C., NOW! Impeach the b'tds who let this happen!

24. They're not even sorry
They haven't apologized. They just want to forget all about it. We lost almost as many people in New Orleans as we did at the World Trade. Probably more if they're ever fully accounted for.

19. Yup. I said it at the time.
Katrina changes everything. I blathered endlessly about it. :)

Politics is one thing, but crass indifference to the suffering and deaths of fellow Americans is too much for most people.

Has Bush yet acknowledged the dead of NOLA?

21. More importantly--he lost the image of competence.
People who'd been paying attention had known that this administration lacked was dominated by a group of ideological extremists who had difficulty coping with the real world.

Many people weren't paying attention. They liked the idea of the CEO president. Why can't you run government like a business?

Bush's whole campeign was basicly "We're in charge. We'll protect you." It was enough to win on.

When the response to Hurricane Katrina showed that these guys were a bunch of screw up from the "What me worry" president, to the absent vice president to "Heckuva Job Brownie" those people who had thought these guys were at least competent had the last foundation for their support of Bush and his gang of cronies pulled out from underneath them.

What remained to Bush were the ideologically driven conservatives and he managed to split those apart by nominating Harriet Meirs.

He went down to Crawford to thank the anti-Cindy protestors who were still there. Bradblog had the story, with pictures. I think he went there on Wednesday or Thursday.

And to Teri, and to Cindy, and to Valerie. I don't know what the next female that will bring him further damage will be. Husband and I noticed this man has major bad female vibe karma. Next time, America stick with the man that loves (even if it's a little too much) the women, not the women hater, kay?
