Endlessly obsessed with abortion (which is related to sex).
Endlessly obsessed with gay marriage (which is even more related to sex).
For 8 years at least, obsessed with Clinton's sex life.
And have made all of these into political issues, when none of them have anything to do with real politics or power, at least on the face of it.

6. They hate the fact that sex is pleasurable
Especially for a woman. And all this homophobia from closeted gay Republicans? They WANT hot man-on-man sex but know they can't have it.

7. These are just random wedge issues. Abortion is really not something
that is "good". I can understand anyone being against that - but only if they are for all manner of reproductive health to minimize the number of unwanted pregnancies. I don't agree many anti-abortion people are thinking sex. I think they are thinking tradgedy and babies.

As to gay? That is just a wedge. Sex is an issue that goes straight to the reptillian brain. And easy way to control minds. So I think it is more like the "wedge-makers" are interested in control of people and that means FEAR or SEX. Because those are the fastest way to reach the jungle part of our brains and the instinctive parts that do not pass through the adult portion of the brain.

It is about control. Not sex or fear. Control. And how to control people so you can control the democracy.

And the control is because these people want power and wealth and are afraid to be fully human (meaning - having rely on hard work (physically, emotionally, psychologically) or rely on luck as human beings in order to exist.

8. Its all about gender roles
They want to be the ones in charge of the roles men and women fill to keep men on top and women on the bottom, according to "tradition"

9. They are all sexually depraved, that's why.
A bunch of closet perverts, pretending to be holier than thou, all the while fixating on other people's private parts.

12. that's my take on them too

I think they are really really sexually depraved, I mean did you ever look at faces of those who are anti-choice, anti-gay, and so forth, they probably have a really hard time getting laid. So they have to take their anger out on others, by acting like they are better than everyone esle, and try to prevent them from having a sex life.

13. Exactly - they are messed up.
Anyone who spends that much time focusing on the perceived "sins" of others really needs to step back and take a closer look at themselves instead.

10. They obviously have a problem with sex...
my guess is that they are simply no good at it.

(that may explain a lot for their tortured psyches and
insecurity complexes manifesting as fascistic philosophy,
evangelical idolotry, power mongering and compulsion for
violence - like wars and such)

all cause their peckers don't perform... how sad.

11. Oh, the fundies are huge on sex, and they drive the repug agenda
Anyone who thinks that the republican elites give a shit about sex beyond a political wedge issue just has to look at their dirty little lives. Libby and Lynn Cheney write books that have sexual themes, Livingston had to resign, Hyde's a home wrecker, Bill Frist is gay, Gingrich is on his third marriage, this time to a gal many years his junior that was an employee, Rush is a three time loser, Dole is a two time loser, Reagan was divorced and his and Nancy's eldest were conceived out of wedlock, Delay served two years in prison for trafficking in girls kidnapped from Malaysia, Ryan wanted to have public sex with his wife, Arnold lived with a gay guy and fooled around on Maria and gropes, the Spokane mayor, you could go on and on.

14. And FR always has pictures of women in bikinis, and
a lot of old fashioned pin-up girls. Lots of suggestive posing. They sure do get hot and bothered over Anne Coulter. I imagine Freepers to look like the crusty old creeps carrying the anti-abortion posters at political rallies. Puke.

They are obsessed with controlling other people's sex lives.

My favorite term for this: Panty-sniffing politics.
