3. I appreciate the thank you.

I am now the administrator of my computer. I am no longer relegated to being a passive obsever. I am connected to broadband at home and I don't have to limit my time to perusing DU during my lunch break at work. I get home and my keyboard allows me to enter the world of TRUTH. It's really great to post (my first) and offer an opinion at DU. And by the way rouguevalley, I have also been in a state of clinical depression since 2000. You are defininately not alone.

Great to have Independents join us here. We all lost in 2000, no matter what your political persuation....except for that elite subset that makes up the Republican Roilist Party.

Enlighten me to what a Roilist is. I am actually a democrat: not an independent. I was walking with my wife one day in Providence, RI and I looked up at the capital building and saw the statue of the Independent Man (freedom and independence) and I thoutht that will be my moniker.

6. I think he meant well.

First, I think the word he intended was "royalist", i.e. the segment of the Republican party which thinks they have a divine right to rule.

And I read his comment about political independents as a statement of solidarity: whether you're an official Democrat or not (though glad to hear you are :-) ), everybody suffers by Bush being in the White House. Ich bin ein Democrat, so to speak. :)
