Is it my imagination, or does the C-SPAN Washington Journal host
cut off liberal callers and allow wingnuts to blather on? I just started a later work shift and I catch the first hour of Washington Journal. I'm a very calm person, but I find myself yelling at the TV. Are these callers paid operatives? It seems that they have their talking points all lined up!

5. It starts my day out right!
all these wingnuts calling in spouting the RW talking points - I just yell facts at the TV debunking them all. Makes me feel like a genius listening to these deluded people. :)

4. Look at it this way...
the people still defending the chimp typically sound insane and pathetic in their defense of the chimp. It really starts my day off with laughter and glee!

6. You're right. They do sound insane.
Maybe the Republicans pay inmates in state hospitals to make these calls.

10. If Fitzgerald should indict more people...
Rove in particular, I look forward to hearing the koolaid drinkers spin that.
Did you hear the bit they read at the beginning from Victoria Toensing's editorial in the WSJ this morning? Completely blames the CIA for the whole thing. She is such a neo-con tool.

11. Wilson was on Oberman last night...
I was able to debunk everyone of her lies..

Plame wasn't really undercover..
Wilson had no WMD knowledge so he shouldn't have been sent...
Blah Blah Blah.

They should get new points.

12. it's why I quit watching it, AllieB
I feel exactly as you do - not just that there's a conservative bias (don't even get me started on Fascist Fridays) but that much of it seems SCRIPTED.

13. Of course, it is scripted.
At least, these people are fed talking points. There are companies out there that specialize in "astroturf", IE: fake grass roots. They charge for posting on the internet and calling into radio and television shows to blather these points. You can be sure that a significent number of these callers are marshalled to their task by these companies. It is also no secret that the RNC and other well-funded right-wing organizations avail themselves of the astroturf opportunities.

14. It IS scripted
From now on, when I hear their talking points in person I am going to ask "Do you get your daily RNC talking points by email or fax?"

15. When Lamb Hosts Its At Its Worst
Its like shit soup without salt when Lamb is the host in the mornings. He may be the founder but he is nothing more or less than a mouthpiece for the Republican Party, and one of the most insidious sort. He claims an evenhanded channel but it is anything but.

16. I catch it once in a while now
what put me off the show was......the hosts "read" from newspapers"......when other topics are up.....yet they won't let anyone comment on what they just read.............and then when the conversation gets good.....on a topic....they cut to go back to the newspapers..like they are trying to get off the topic.especially if the topic is the job bush is doing or if too many callers are bashing him...........
I think all hosts are doing this and they are showing their party loyality......GOP
