Where did MIHOP/LIHOP terminology originate?

It seems so Pentagon like....with all thier acronym euphemism. You could argue that MIHOP/LIHOP was coined to blur the distinction between to two theories and turn them both into crazy conspiracy theories. Equally junk.

One of them sees very probably when you consider the PNAC document to Clinton, the "new pearl harbor needed" comments, the outing of the CIA agent.

I just wonder if anyone knows who COINED the term MIHOP/LIHOP?

3. My First Foray Was From The Movie "Good Will Hunting."

There was a scene with Matt Damon and the guy in the bar who thought he was "intelligence personified" and Damon showed him up.

When the skirmish was over there was some glad handing and Ben Affleck slapped him and said "way to MIHOP the guy!" I didn't realize it until I saw the movie about 6 months ago as a rerun and I heard him say it.

It could then have "morphed" into LIHOP!

But Affleck was ONE person who said it in the movie!

That's the best I can recall.

From memory, LIHOP came first becaue he wanted to convey a sense of conspiracy which would be more acceptable to more people. MIHOP came about when a growing number of people felt that Bush et al had orchestrated the whole thing & LIHOP became irrelevant.

10. Meanings muddy over time.

Let it Happen on Purpose, LIHOP, happened around here shortly after 9/11/01 and the archives probably have some thread that creates it, or someone brought it from another site. As more information came out, the meaning changed with new revelations.

We knew about the lack of interceptors, the terrorist's wallet so strangely found on the ground then forgotten, and other things which my mind does not time-stamp record. There was also that plane that left, taking binladen family back to the Middle East. Conspiracy theories abounded.

MIHOP at that point could mean the Bush admin ordered it, or organized it, and covered it up.

Then there was, IN MY ESTIMATION, a Right Wing disinformation campaign that added complication to LIHOP and MIHOP. Example: The French wrote a book about 9/11, RWers wrote a faked book buying it up by the case to make it a best seller, then the original French authors wrote another book about the faked book.

The disinformation, AS I SEE IT, was that there were bombs placed inside the WTC that went off just as the planes hit, and in adjacent buildings. That NO plane hit the Pentagon. This became MY idea of MIHOP, and I don't accept it to this day.

My LIHOP: Having an inkling of an impending attack and ignoring the data on purpose to let it, allow it to happen, done on purpose. That they didn't think it would be as bad as it ended.

My HIHOP: They HELPED it happen, by actively ignoring FBI reports by asking FBI to not follow those reports either boldly, or by planted comments. They planned a test to excuse no interceptors on that day. They; shut down the .iq websites the week prior to initiate a fail-safe mode terrorists would not be able to call off.

My MIHOP is still the disinformation campaign, but, the meanings continue to change.
