While I applaud supporting Harry Reid...and am Thrilled with his Stand...
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 07:48 PM by KoKo01
It's nice....

AND, I think that sending a BIG NOTE of THANKS TO HIM from DEMOCRATIC UNDERGOUND is a FANTASTIC SHOW OF SUPPORT...AND I urge All DU'ers to sign Will Pitts kind letter to Reid. I want to set the record straigt for us "Legacy DU'ers."

Nevertheless...here's my reply to one of Will's early drafts of his letter...gotten in there and posted very late on the thread just to make the point for all of us who knew the Intelligence was "cooked" and that Bush was "Selected" not "Elected." And for those of us who know there is something "funny" about what happened on "9/11" that we should NEVER FORGET!
----------------------------------------------
(My Answer to Pitt's Draft before his final version)

But, I think this is kind of flakey... Like...we are supposed to pretend we didn't give up our valuable time to protest again and again and again (as we gave up our TIM AND LIVES TO FIGHT AGAINST THIS INVASIO...this WAR) because WE had the ability with help to parse out that this whole thing was a LIE based on False Intelligence put forward by folks with and agenda i.e. PNAC/NEOCON's and that so many of us have worked so hard to expose that the 2000 and 2002 and 20004 ELECTIONS WERE STOLEN...and now we are supposed to SUCK UP and LOVE AND KISS REID's ASS because FINALLY they do a "CLOSED SESSION?" :nuke:

Okay...it's what Kerry/Edwards said to us. We are in Iraq and we need to find a way to move forward and deal with the issues at hand...
And no matter how many faxes, e-mails, letters and phone calles John Edwards got...he gave the same shit back to us. "I supported the war...based on the the threat of WMD...yadda...yadda...yadda...:banghead:

Let's TRANSLATE FOR DEMS who supported the WAR (i.e. the Iraq Invasion and Occupation)...I supported it because either: I was terrified after Anthrax/9/11, I was honestly conflicted over the intelligence info and believed Dick Cheney and Condi Rice...(Mushroom Clouds, etc.) OR...and the TRUTH OF IT..."I covered my BUTT because I was up for Re-Election, Election or I was running for President of the USA!!! :nuke:

So...I'll sign the letter..as a loyal DU'er who is so glad they got off their DUFFS finally the "spineless wonders" but we NEED NEVER FORGET that WE WERE OUT HERE LONG BEFORE HARRY REID WOKE THE HELL UP!
:-)'s and PEACE!

3. We could sit here for days...
...listing all the opportunities that have passed by, and complaining about those Democrats that told those that DID speak up (and there were many: Dean, McKinney, Conyers, Kucinich...etc) to sit down and shut up (and we complained about Lieberman and Biden and Clinton, and rightly so)...we also remember the "toast" moments and how dissapointing it was to have those voices silenced, ignored, slandered and otherwise marginalized again and again.

So like a small child, let's applaud them for what they do right, sternly reprimand them for what they do wrong, and help to save this friggin country. Otherwise, we won't get the leaders we want, we'll get the milquetoast politicians no one is grossly outraged by.

4. I have definitely SUPPORTED THE MOMENT AND REID....but
we should never forget...or we will end up in this "wilderness we've been in for so long" once again. It's important to remember history and try to keep a repitition if it was as dark and bad as what's happened to us since Clinton was elected. How they have underminded the Democratic Party will not be over because Harry Reid stood up today. It doesn't mean we can now turn the reigns over to them.... We have SO MUCH WORK TO DO!

But...I did cherish this moment..just looking ahead.

peace and :-)'s

5. Just donated $15.00 bucks to Harry's leadership fund.
I have this theory that the way to reinforce good behaviour is to pay for it. The more they do stuff that I like, the more I open my wallet.
