Can we prove this lie by Dick Cheney?
“I don’t know Joe Wilson,” Cheney said, in response to Russert who quoted Wilson as saying there was no truth to the Niger uranium claims. “I’ve never met Joe Wilson. And Joe Wilson—I don’t who sent Joe Wilson. He never submitted a report that I ever saw when he came back... I don’t know Mr. Wilson. I probably shouldn't’t judge him. I have no idea who hired him and it never came...”

The Vice President certainly must have known Wilson during his tenure as secretary of defense during the first President Bush’s administration. In the weeks leading up to the first Gulf War, Wilson served as the acting U.S ambassador on the ground in Baghdad. In fact, Wilson was the only line of communication between Washington and Saddam Hussein. The White House held daily briefings with Wilson, and Cheney sat in on a majority of those briefings.

Sure would be cool to find a photo of the VP and Wilson together,
or some correspondence that the two had!

Remember the lie about not meeting John Edwards during the debate.
It is astounding that he was never called on that one by the press!

1. Well, Dicky just can't remember people very well
I am sure that is OK since he is the second most powerful person in America.

2. Cheney lies often and crazily
You'd have to prove he knew he was lying.

4. IMHO, that goes to one of the biggest central lies of TreasonGate...
to wit: No one in the White House heard of Wilson's early 2002 Niger report until May/June of 2003.

Expose that, and a whole new round of perjury charges comes into play...right up to Cheney and many cabinet heads. And you expose the real motive for outing Plame and destroying Brewster-Jennings.

5. The aristocracy looks down on all but their benefactors & sycophants...
so it's a given cheney would lie about knowing a detractor like Wilson. Then there's that pesky criminal cover-up cheney knew would be coming down the pipe, so the public denial is ironic as they priviately, clandestinely worked to expose and ruin Wilson's wife. imo

7. I think Cheney lied about Plame too
I think he would have know her very well from all his trips to CIA Headquarters before the war. There were reports that he wasn't happy with what the CIA was telling him and that he then went around them and Rummie's OSP folks provided the bogus evidence instead.

8. He made that statement on TV only a week or two after
(according to evidence in the case against Scooty-boot Libby), he (Cheney) had discussed Joe Wilson with Libby.

It's pretty obvious he was lying.

And when Wilson was honored by Bush-Nero the First... Cheney was around... sure he met him!
