Using Rove as a witness in the case?
A caller on Malloy just made an interesting theory. He suggested that Fitzgerald is going to use Rove as a witness and that's why he wasn't indicted today along with Libby. I think that Fitzgerald could have indicted Rove today if he wanted to but I remember earlier this week Rove decided to talk and there was also new information given about something with the Italian government.

1. Rove isn't indicted because Fitz didn't want him indicted.
He's building the conspiracy case and completing the obstruction case, both of which can conceivably go to the very top. Indicting Rove today would have tipped his hand on the rest of the case. He held back because he's gonna charge KKKarl with conspiracy. He wants that net to sweep up the whole batch, not just a couple of low-lifes like Rove and Libby.

2. I agree.
Rove is just another piece in the puzzle. I have a feeling that Fitz is nothing if not thorough.

3. Rove was about to be indicted, then his attorney did something.
Rove's attorney was able to buy Rove some time. The only way he could have done that was to give up something valuable. What was it?

We know Fitz put Judas Miller in jail for 3 months to get her to cough up Libby. He must need Rove to nail Libby, and that will allow him to nail Cheney.

I hope.

4. Or he needs Libby to nail Rove
I think that's a much more plausible scenario. Rove is not going to give up that easy and it's oft reported that Fitz squeezes the #2 to get to the #1. If that pattern indeed is correct, then Libby is being used to get to "Subject A."

30 years potential jail time is a lot of time for someone who is not used to doing any kind of physical work and having the freedom to come and go is mighty persuasive.

5. Yep
He must've gave some heck of a deal for Fitzgerald to not put Rove in jail yet. So I too wonder. Is he going to give someone up?
