Do you suppose he pulled out the wrong notebook during his prep for the show?

6. Hope that is his mantra. David just close your eyes and keep
chanting that to yourself, "Fitzmas isn't coming. Fitzmas isn't coming." Pretend the leak story is nothing. It will go away...

And while your are sitting there with your head up your ass your shilling for this administration will become just as hollow and lame as good old Judy's. Time to either fish or cut bait, Brooks, you can either attempt to salvage your pathetic career or you can go down with the ship. Your call.

I heard his psychobabble on the Newshour last week. He was still trying to peddle the "Judy is a real first ammendment" martyr crap and how all the problems she had at the Times was that she ruffled feathers and egos. A worthless shill.

14. I happen to think you can win on any issue - and here is a nod to
Andrew Card- IF YOU SELL IT CORRECTLY

If we can't hammer corruption ,TREASON,cronyism the effects of a huge deficit into a victory because we CAN govern better than the Repugs,we don't deserve to win

18. We shall see. Sad that we have to SELL common sense and morality.
Not the crap morality of the right but a real morality against torture, murder, theft. Morality aside, the practical impact of the crimes committed will hit home financially for most americans. And in terms of our long term safety as a nation.

And it is not all the Dem's responsibility to convince the people. Do not the people have an obligation to act like intelligent adults?
The american people are acting like children with limited intellectual and moral resources. Dems cannot force the american people to grow up.

American is at a crossroads. We shall see if the American people can evolve into an intelligent and moral people. Our survival depends upon it. I certainly do not think it is the Dems fault if the people refuse to grow up.

People in the hinterland know people who have died in Iraq.

They care, if they can be convinced Bush lied to them for no good purpose.

10. But they are interested in "The Rest of the Story." People know and under
understand - and therefore are interested- when anybody is indicted for a crime. When high-up people are indicted, they will be doubly interested.

IF, IF, IF the media will continue to cover it - so people will know and then CAN be interested.

45. Yes but where there is smoke there is fire
Once indicted the stroy will get even juicier. If there is so much evidence to warrant indicting such influential men then the evidence must be pretty compelling. If they go to court they will be found guilty and Bush* will be forced to use his authority to Pardon his cronies.

20. that says everything about the rethugs, and the American people
if they don't care about traitors, then they don't care about America

and they will pay for the consequences of their actions, whether it is their children who fight wars based on lies, or how they won't have social security or a pension when they retire, or how their job will be off-shored

sorry, but after 8 years of clinton bashing, and 6 years of the obsenity in the white house, I have very little patience or respect for the american public

23. Apparently a "revived" talking point
The talking head on the radio station in my area said the same thing this week. Yep, the President and VP (along with a boatload of others beneath them) are facing the worst political crisis yet, and "No one cares" .......

Whistling past the graveyard folks .... whistling past the graveyard.

Let me take a digress for a moment to remind everyone that Bush can't pardon these assholes if he's being impeached. We've got to start flooding the Senate and House with demands for impeachment if we expect any justice to be done. Otherwise it'll just be a repeat of Bush Sr when he let Weinberger off the hook. Inevitably, these dickheads will wander back into political appointments (as they've done in the past) if they're not stopped NOW.

37. Understood
The intent is to fill Washington with such a loud noise that it would be difficult to ignore. I'm assuming the House and Senate talk amongst themselves so when it came time to compare notes for their particular constituency, they would all concur that the "torches and pitchforks" appear to be in play .....

But you're right, if we do nothing, nothing will be done ....

24. All the Bush excuse makers are laying down suppressive fire ...
... to try to stop the press of really damaging news.

Talk about living in denial. The pukes and their shills are firing everything at once - it's Libby, not Rove; Libby is just doing what is right for America; they didn't know she was covert; they didn't mean to do anything illegal; they were protecting national security; Joe Wilson lied about being sent by Cheney.

All for naught, because the same public that elected them has had enough of this shady business, and the indictments will blow the lid off.

28. To David Brooks: It's got nothing to do with democrats, asshole!!
Have you noticed, Mr. Brooks, that there aren't any democrats in the group of possible indictees??

Bushistas have ignored democrats, and have gone on their merry, warmongering, murdering, way. But now suddenly, in addition to democrats, plenty of former kool-aid drinkers have finally had enough!

Keep whistling in the dark, dumbshit, and remember, when it comes down to finally taking out this horrible, anti-American, terrorist, administration, you're either with us or against us! And some of us are keeping score.

a kid being versed into saying something by his parents to grandparents, and not wanting to say anything at all. Not surly, but being an obedient child, just paley parroting what mommy and daddy told him to say.

A tried and true repuke tactic. Once the indictments come down the meme will change slightly to "Move along. Nothing to see here. These indictments are politically motivated. The Dems are 'criminalizing' politics. Shame on them. Now on to the real news. Today in Aruba..."

He spun zero WMDs into a positive -- saying Bush stopped Saddam and Quday from reconstituting the programs later.

It'd be funny if it weren't for all the dead, wounded and destroyed -- blood on Brooks hands, too.

... about that stupid breakin at the Watergate Dem HQ at first, either. It seemed like a political prank to most folks.

Then all the other shit started to ooze up to the surface.

Even the most apolitical Murikan knows mass sleaze when he sees it.

Only difference now is that the Party of Sleaze controlls all the branches of government and there's no investigative press.

41. That's exactly what they said about Watergate
Nobody cares.

Just a Beltway/ Eastern Establishment story.

Etc., etc., etc.

Remarkable how consistent the playbook is. First they say "This is just politics" (Don Segretti and the WH run dirty tricks campaign that forced Muskie from the race), then they say "nobody cares." We can hope that the next move is also mimeographed straight from the early-70's: "I resign."

Of course, David Brooks is actually shitting himself because everyone seems to see that the leak story is directly tied to absurd and false case for the Iraq war, and David Brooks knows that even his Bobo's on Paradise Drive have seen about enough of that catastrophic policy, and know that he's neck-deep in bodies over it.
