Poll question: If this is an investigation of a conspiracy to falsely lead the USA to war
...which I think it is. Can you think of anyone who you would rather have besides Fitzgerald leading this investigation?

No known political affiliation (Not positive about this one but that is what I have heard reported on cable news)

Fitzgerald has been described as:

"Brilliant."

"A stand-out."

"Incredibly dedicated to doing the right thing."

"Scary smart."

"Elliot Ness with a Harvard Law degree and a sense of humor."

A former colleague vouched: " If you're doing your job right there are going to be a lot of people who don't like you."

...than beyond the narrow scope of who outed a CIA agent if one of them had been investigating this issue? Would a Dem have started investigating into the question of WHY the agent had been outed do you think? Or do you think even if he had wanted to do that the pressure would have became too great on him to wrap this thing up a long time ago? From both sides of the aisle and the media?

3. No, unless it could be that ol' country lawyer, Sam Ervin.
Now he was brilliant in 1973 during the Senate Watergate Hearings. He suffered no spin-doctors.

4. No. But it may expose such a conspiracy as part of the motive for
leaking Plame's identity.

5. THAT is the MOTIVATION for the CRIME
The Crime is Outing a CIA Agent, Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice.

The Motivation was to DISCREDIT opposition to the WAR, a PATTERNED BEHAVIOR of the ADMIN before, during and AFTER the war.

MANY people who spoke out were DISCREDITED and SMEARED. They broke the law with Plame.
