1. Kind of believe in several of them
Some of them are more slogan-y; like "People over Property." I don't know what that is intended to mean. Seems like it could be attached to ideas I agree with and others that I don't agree with.

4. Liberals

believe in individual opportunity and self determination. The conservatives are right that the origins of liberalism are libertarian, however this is based on a preindustrial paradigm. With the large concentrations of wealth and power that take place in an industrial society, liberals believe that a strong government must be able to foster the environment conducive to the aforementioned self determination for all.

5. IME trying to peg down one thing that Liberals " believe" is...
like trying "herd cats". ;)

Of course there's *hope*... maybe someday we'll find something or someone that will act much like the sound of a can opener and get all the Liberal "cats" to go to them. :D

Oh and FYI: I had to vote "other" since I believe in more then one mentioned. :)

6. The first principles of liberalism are...
A democratic government that guarantees civil liberty for all individuals, including especially freedoms of the thought, speech, press, and travel, that provides equal protection for citizens of all creeds and races, that implements representative government checked by institutional adherence, that punishes official corruption and that fosters transparency and honesty in its execution.

Call me an old-fashioned liberal.

7. Well put. I'd add "and that favors equality of opportunity but
not necessarily results"
