FRAMING: Instead of "Islamofascism", use "theocratic fascism"
I just heard Andrew Sullivan do this on a clip from Maher's show last week, and the effect is profound. We're against all forms of theocratic fascism. We don't write ourselves a free pass just because we're not Muslim. And you can't fight theocratic fascism by engaging in it. I think this is a great tactic for confronting the pro-war crowd and broadening the discussion.

19. They have more and bigger guns too. And more money.
That makes them more dangerous, despite the fact that they foam at the mouth a bit less intensely than the ones who came up 700 years later.

6. Simplify further
"Religion."

Especially since no major world religion (not including Native American faiths here) smacks of anything even remotely democratic. They all have some sort of head shaman or chief priest or ultimate mullah. All those are decidedly anti-democratic structures.

We have to come to terms with the fact that democracy in its modern form was born out of enlightenment and a rejection of ancient superstitions.

Sorry. That's just the way it is.

Not gooning on anyone's "faith."

9. "Religious fanatics" - an old tried and true
That's what my folks always called people like this. It isn't as sophisticated as the other descriptive proposals. But it's all the same and rolls off the tongue.

11. My other favorite
is "Religion Industry." It ties in the corporate nature of these power-mad creeps.

12. My long deceased grandma would have agreed with you
You should have heard her rant about the priests when I was a kid back in the 50's. She was very involved in her parrish and had their number.

15. Agreed--Minor Addendum
How 'bout "fundie-fascists"?

Rolls off the toungue easier and has catch-jingle cache.

I am totally convinced that the "real" war is between the fundie-fascists of all religions and everybody else on the planet.

18. I bet it's hard to find a man more torn inside than Andrew Sullivan.
It's not what you're thinking, perverts. I'm talking about his mind.

Major pro-war dem-bashing rah-rah bushbot... that's becoming painfully aware of right-wing bigotry against him and people like him. A truly intriguing character.
