After watching Viveca Fox (black actress) on Conan the other night, she said she was supporting Arnold.

The ones that got out and voted were star struck and think it's cool that "The Terminator" would be their governor. If California's problems don't get solved come November 2004, Arnold will be out....imo.

edit: our local fox local news took a survey of houston residence and asked which local celebriy they would want for governor:

first place: Beyonce Knowles
second place: george foreman

4. Yeah, I know but
..a lot of people always assume most blacks vote for Democrats. That is the only reason I pointed her race out.

8. That is why I just pointed it out
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 11:36 PM by roughsatori
I thought you might have meant that without stating it. But it always strikes me as odd as the first time I heard the news report: "2 Black men just robbed a bank on Main St" I had never heard the race of a perpetrator pointed out when it was a White person.

It is strange that the Democratic party does at times assume that African-Americans, Gays (and lately at DU,Greens) owe our party their vote. And if it is expedient for the party to put Black, and Gay issues on the back-burner, members of the party will invariably tell Blacks or Gays to stop being uppity (in a very nice way). I have read threads here recently were posters basically ask Gays and Lesbians to back off until after the next election to avoid giving the Repukes ammunition. Imagine, the demand for equal-rights being put on the back burner, and then the blaming when those core groups don't bother going out to vote.

7. I doubt it
If Arnold were a Democrat the media wouldn't have given him a free pass on the groping charges.

11. I totally agree w/you.
Put a "d" near his name, and the mud slinging would by the "family values" billy bennett hypocrite repukes club would have been defening. I would stake my life and fortune on that.

It has everything to do with wining at all costs, even overturning an election not even 11 months old!

A dem arnold wouldn't have made it out of the gate.

12. If Arnold was running as a Dem, the groping would have been a problem
See, it's only okay when republicans abuse women. The press can overlook such things for republicans. The victims are blamed as "asking for it" or "part of a dirty tricks campaign".

If Arnold was a Democrat, it's a different story. Suddenly, these are serious allegations, and he's a sexual predator to be feared. Had he run as a Democrat, a dozen allegations of groping and abuse would have ruined his career, film and political, and quite possibly his family life.

13. I don't think so.
The media would have still cheerleadered if he was a Democrat but the republicans would have bitched and moaned. I still believe he would have won anyway.
