I'm getting responses in my SpamBlocker from people who rec'd something from the above address. I don't have a clue why I'm getting this as my e-mail address isn't referenced, but it's unnerving!

Same situation -- I got a couple of messages from people saying they didn't sign up and don't know what this is. I've never heard of it, either.

4. Sounds like someone has hijacked your email address

and is using an annon sender (maybe?) to send out email that make it appear as though it came from your address. I had a similar problem a few years ago and had to contact my ISP to have them block any further mail generated from them at the server. I also forwarded the emails to the FCC so they could trace the headers. These are spammers usually trying to get around their own ISP's spam rules.

It could also be that LibertyTreeFDR.org is affiliated with someone that you have signed up with legitimately, and they have a virus that is spoofing your email address as the sender, leaving them as victim as well.

Any clue what the original email was about? Are you just getting "remove me" types of replies?

This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your
LibertyTreeFDR.org mailing list memberships. It includes your
subscription info and how to use it to change it or unsubscribe from a
list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, [email protected]) containing
just the word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be
sent to you with instructions.
