The band's lyrical listing of accomplishments and their respective varying degrees of success and failure tend to only serve the purpose of refueling and, potentially, igniting the passions of a crowd whose members are bereft of self-confidence and mired in doubt. These peoples' leaders have failed them. Their last and only recourse is to madly throw lyrical barbs blithely into the face of innocent passers-by.

That said, I think what's most telling about their condition is how they chose to say "Bush was right" instead of "Bush is right".
