Actually, I don't feel angry about the recall OPINION PIECE

Am I happy with Arnold being the governor of the most populous state in the union? No. Do I feel a recall 7 months after an election is a great step forward in modern democracy? Not really. Though, this recall was the ultimate in populist democracy. The people of California have spoken and they are the ones who have to live with their choice. It may turn out good or it may turn out bad (I feel it will be somewhere in the center depending which way you SPIN it, just like everything else).

The one thing it did was get those lazy citizens off their bums and get out and vote, and to me, that is the only way democracy can thrive in its truest form (please, I know the US is a republic; I am talking in a more spiritual sense, so-to-speak). Politics have become something of a sport in America in recent times. Some love to follow the tiniest nuances of the game while others ignore it with all of their might and turn the channel to Oprah at the first available moment. This may be a spark to wake people to how the country is being governed and maybe they can see how sleazy out politicians have become on all sides. I hope this can be a catalyst for true change in American political life. Or maybe, nothing will happen and everything will fall back into place as it was yesterday. :sigh: At least us in Florida won't be getting to many more jokes about our voting habits. :)

if this is their decision then so be it. They may have not had enough time to understand the canidates clearly or their positions but they made a descision nonetheless. Call me old-fashioned, but I would rather have an election where everyone had a chance to be part of the outcome rather then a 25%-25% split. I feel a large part of why our country is falling apart is apathy, pure and simple.
