Georgie isn't a real journalist. He is a former Hill staffer/administration spokesperson who uses his contacts from these earlier jobs to get information so he has something to say. The judge wouldn't rule whether he'd allow Earle to present his most damning evidence (tapes of her directing employees to destroy documents and back-up tapes) and while Earle was trying to get a hearing before a judge that would allow it, the first judge convened a jury and demanded they acquit.
