Commander in Chief on ABC
Okay, the premise is a tough one to buy. The pres is a republican and VP is an independent plus a woman to boot. Hard one to swallow, IMO.

Pres wants VP to resign so the speaker will get the job. He tells her he won't resign until she does.

Geena Davis' character is so far liberal sounding, but it's still early to say. She wants to save a woman in another country from being stoned to death.

3. If they have good writers it probably will be a good show.
I will tune in to see if I want to watch it again. I like the premise of a woman President. It could open the possibilities for the real thing in the near future.

the Donald Sutherland character also reminds me more of
Tom DeLay than Dennis Hastert, even though the character is the Speaker of the House.

46. agree with you there ... some days the news feels like 1098 ...
Brutal leaders screaming about crusades in the Holy Land, and the serfs following them blindly. I have a replica Norman helmet perched on top of my TV cabinet, and most of the time when CNN is running, it looks entirely appropriate.

I most definetly could be wrong, but I thought that I read somewhere that Geena Davis gave her contributions to the repuke party? If she in fact is, that is an interesting part she is playing.
