LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Kentuckians joined thousands of demonstrators from across the country in the nation's capital over the weekend to protest the war in Iraq. snip

"I want to see immediate withdrawal," said Nancy Jakubiak, a Louisville law secretary who arrived by bus. "No matter how long we stay, there's no good outcome." snip

One Lexington mother, Anita Dennis, said she turned against the war when her son was wounded in Iraq.

Her son, Darrell Anderson, refused to return and fled to Toronto, where he is now trying to gain refugee status, she said.

"No matter what lies George Bush tells us about Iraq, I know the truth, because my son was there," she said. "End the war. Bring our troops home."
