Good grief. Perhaps Allah is mad as us after all.

Rita is heading straight for the petrochemical megacomplex in Beaumont (where the first large oil strike took place in 1901) and Port Arthur, Texas City and where 50% of all the chemicals in the U.S. are made.

Is there some karma happeing here?

George Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Condi Rice...all out of the oil business have sown the winds of war to get Saddam's oil for their petrochemical buddies...

And now, Katrina and Rita are having their way with America's petroleum refining capacity in ways no one could have ever imagined.

Hosea 8, verse 7 in the the Bible says: "They that sow the wind shall inherit the whirlwind."

Now, I'm not one given to believing in the big, bad man up in the sky with lightening bolts and all, or in the desert mountain god who corrected his design of the male anatomy by insisting that they clip their penises, but...
